Bought this in June 2019, writing this review in March 2024. It's only just started to rust in a couple spots in the last few months. Nothing broke ever. Worked great for the small items I occasionally had. I kept this in the dishwasher through every cycle even if it wasn't in use, and every clean (Affresh tab monthly), so it was by no means babied or only "used" a few times. The only times it was ever removed was maybe a handful of times I needed the space it occupied for an oddly shaped dish. One thing I think is important to note is that I never had anything sharp in it, just small plastic pieces, so nothing could put a cut in the paint to start the rust early. If anyone is curious, I use Cascade Platinum ActionPacs, Finish Jet-Dry rinse aid, Affresh dishwasher tablets about once per month, and run my dishwasher an *average* of 2-3 times a week (sometimes once one week or even 3 times in a day). My dishwasher is a ~20 year old GE Nautilus. The condition it's in now is very reasonable for the use it's had (hundreds of cycles at this point) over the time I've had it. Perfect basket for our dishwasher! Organizes and saves all of our little objects from the heat below. Holds bottle tops, and what not perfectly. I did drop a star since the closure is a little difficult to use.

As far back as I can remember, I have always had a basket similar to this one sitting in the top rack of my dishwasher - they're just what's needed to hold the small things that you can't just put into the dishwasher loose, but not so big that they take up a massive amount of space. Generally, after several years' use, the white coating eventually cracks and I buy a new one. The design of the baskets I had previous to these had the bottom just slightly smaller than the top (so the sides were at a very slight angle), and that did make a difference with a few items that didn't fit as well as I would have liked.This particular brand that I recently bought is perfect because the bottom of the basket is the same width as the top (which is the same as some baskets I had quite a number of years ago), and it really makes a difference (in my opinion). Pricey but works well. Keeps all the go-cup lids organized. Also to wash glass balls from floral arrangements.

    • Cheap - Lid won't stay on.
I had one of these for 20 years and it has worked fine. It finally developed a worn spot with rust, so I ordered this one. This is almost identical to the one I purchased for USD1 - 20 years ago. The big difference are the hooks that keep the lid on. The front closure works fine. But if the "hinge" hooks don't work, then it's useless. The hooks are just wire that is supposed to wrap around the upper edge of the basket. But they are too short by 1/4 inch to bend. So, they don't close. The lid just falls off. How can I be so exact? Because I have the old one to compare with. I tried bending the hooks with pliers but they are too short to bend. There is no fixing this. I tried zip ties, but they hold the lid on but make it difficult to open and close the lid. Only the manufacturer can fix this problem. I do NOT recommend this as a purchase because it doesn't work without the lid! It is cheaply made in just this one place and that makes the whole basket useless if you want it to contain small items in the dishwasher. It is not easy to use - it cannot be used for the intent that it was made for. For the price? Go elsewhere. Until they fix this small problem, it will not work. ... show more

I have not liked the large capacity styles designed for use with baby items. This is the perfect for the occasional small item that I prefer to send through the dishwasher.

Lid falls off. I thought I had purchased this exact product before. It eventually rusted and the coating came off in the dishwasher. But this seems to be faulty. The size was why I purchased it. Perfect for washing reusable coffee pods in the dishwasher.
