They really aren't bad boots but they aren't wide enough. I ended up having to buy shoe stretchers to get them wide enough. I also had to buy those rubber heel massager things because the base of the boot isn't very comfortable. After those 2 tweaks, they aren't bad. I bought these boots to replace a pair of Life Stride riding boots I've been wearing for years. These fit as if they're made for wide calves, and they run very small. My current pair is a 9, so I purchased the same size in these, but they were way too tight with my toe pushed against the front of the boot. Also, they are not knee-high as described. I am 5'4", and they are a good 1"-2" below my knee. Definitely not the quality Life Stride has previously produced. I am returning these. ... show more

It's always a gamble to buy footwear online, but there are few brick and mortar stores in my area. My calves measure 17", and these boots fit snugly with no gap. I like that. I have only worn them once, but the zipper bends in above my ankle and painfully rubs my leg. I stretched and pulled that area of the boot which helped. I hope with more work to fix that problem.
