Great cocktail set with nearly everything you need. The cup feels/looks a little cheap, but the recipes on the side aren't bad. Plus,I didn't buy this for the cup. The shakers are very high quality (just metal) and it's nice to have two different options. They work exactly as you would expect and are easy to make great cocktails with. I'm not really sure what I should be using the spoon for, but I suppose it can help with making layered drinks or stirring in a tall glass? I haven't tried either of these yet. The only think I would change is maybe adding a fine strainer instead of the spoon or glass. The holes in the shaker with a lid are too large to filter out any pulp if you add fresh citrus juice. Many kitchens already have a strainer, but a small sized one for this set would be a useful addition. PROS: - High quality real metal parts - Has all the necessary equipment for making your favorite drinks - You look pretty classy stirring things up with that large spoon and having a dedicated stick to muddle your fruit. CONS: - A 0.75 oz. measuring cup would come in handy when making single servings - The shaker is counted as 3 pieces (not really a complaint, but seems like cheating) - No strainer - Pint glass is kind of ugly and definitely won't be sitting on my bar ... show more

Here are few tips which will add more value to your cocktail set (Libbey Mixology 9-piece Cocktail Set). Based on the reviews this company seems to be most preferred choice when it comes to cocktail sets. Using this product was a good experience. It is a great cocktail set for house parties with all the required necessities which includes a strainer, cocktail shaker, muddler and mixing spoon, mixing glass and shot glass. I am really impressed with the good quality and with the durable feature of this set. It works easily and it is now super convenient to make great cocktails at home. In short, a perfect treat for a party lover. ***Quick Tip*** This cocktail set takes the responsibilities of preparing the drink in the most exotic manner but one should always remember that if the prepared drinks are not served in a pleasant manner, then the urge for consumption decreases. This was a gift for a family member who loves making cocktails. She absolutely loved it! What sold me was that it contained a glass mixing glass in addition to the metal one. We've learned that when using a metal mixer along with the metal top to mix cocktails with lots of ice, the top and bottom get stuck because it's too cold so a glass mixer works best. I was happy to present her with this gift and now I'm going to order one for myself! Cheers! ... show more

Overall, this is a fantastic bar set. Cocktail making at home is simple-- this set has everything you need to make a perfect drink. Two reasons why I docked a star: 1. It doesn't have a jigger. The shot glass and measuring glass are a fine replacement, but a jigger would definitely speed things up for a recipe that glass for 1.5 ounces of something. 2. The shaker top is difficult to open once it gets frosty. I've never had this issue with a shaker before, but this one seems to tighten when cold. The very top/small piece comes off with ease, so you won't have any trouble getting to your drink. But if you want the left over ice, it's a bit tricky. My recommendation is waiting a minute or two before you open it, or you risk splattering yourself with the excess drink mix left with the ice. Overall though, it's really helped making high quality cocktails at home. I feel like a real mixologist. :) ... show more

I have not used it yet, I must say that. I have opened it and inspected everything and I am very happy. Everything is well made and solid. The glass mixer is actually really heavy which is nice. It comes packaged in the box in separate compartments lined with cardboard. Reminded me of an ornament tin. The glass will be helpful even for non alcoholic activities. All items arrived new in box and are just as pictured. The items are well made and function as they are designed for. I recommend hand washing the items. These were not made for dishwasher cleaning. If you just throw them in a dishwasher, they will rust.

I bought this for my son, who requested a set as a Christmas gift. This is a very nice set. Well made, not cheap looking like some other sets I've seen. Plus, for the price, it had everything he could want in a bar set. Many of the other sets I looked at cost as much, or more, and didn't have as many pieces in those sets.
