The media could not be loaded. As a physical therapist, I recommend this theracane so often. So many patients may not have the means to get a massage frequently, nor have a partner or person in their life that could give them massages. This device is helpful to relieving trigger point knots while maintaining good body ergonomics and without exerting a ton of force. That last part is important, without exerting a ton of force, as this helps you to relax while you're also kneading into those tight spots in your shoulders back, and anywhere. It has various knobbies so that you can use the larger curve for your shoulders and back, and the smaller curve for your biceps triceps and feet (just a fee examples) As well as a middle knob to dig into your IT band quadricep and side body. I like this product's material quality as it's very sturdy and doesn't give a lot like the name, brand theracane and other variations. This product also comes in two pieces that you can snap together, I've never needed to take it apart, it looks like it's not made to easily take apart, however, that's also an option if you are going to travel with it and need to make it fit into a smaller space. Because of the material quality it does not hold on to heat or cold and does not make any noises. Overall, I highly recommend this product, I use mine just about everyday to loosen up trigger points in my upper trap muscles, sub occipital upper neck, and feet. I never leave reviews, but this massage tool is fantastic! The design is simple, but well engineered- the little knobs double as massage points & comfortable handles when using other massage points.     • Great for back stress/pain, less so for the neck
At this point, I think I have tried every affordable consumer product on the market for back stress/tension relief. Everything ranging from shiatsu massagers to percussion massagers to roller massagers to more expensive TENS units to ...well, you get the idea. They each work for some things and not others. And now I've got this strange looking device. It was more affordable than other similar items that I had found on Amazon. There are now three primary items in my arsenal of self back-massage/stress-relief tools in order of preference: This tool, tennis balls in an old sock (it's cheap, portable, and extremely effective), and a cheap lower back shiatsu massager that I've had for about 7 years. Seriously, this weird looking thing took the esteemed position previously occupied by an old sock with tennis balls stuffed into it. Why did I knock of a star? Because the neck knobs are too far apart for my neck. I have a long, slender neck, so this only does part of the job. As a result, this device is hard to use for my neck. I can imagine this device being used heavily by older folks whose bodies are falling apart who are just looking for some pain relief and many of those folks are also going to have slender necks and therefore experience similar difficulties. But for the back, which is generally hard to reach in the first place and where most stress knots form, oh man is this amazing. It requires very little arm strength to use to reach the most sensitive areas of the back and apply pressure. And since I am in complete control (unlike shiatsu, roller, and percussion massagers), the amount of pressure I apply is entirely up to me. The following tip is not in the instruction manual but totally should be: Focus on breathing deeply while using this device. The result is phenomenal near-instantaneous relief. When I'm not breathing deeply while using the device, it just doesn't seem nearly as effective. If you suffer irregular migraines and/or frequent headaches, this device and the tennis balls in a sock are now my two recommended solutions - previously my recommendation was just "tennis balls in an old sock" to which I got lots of strange looks. Also, look at how you sleep at night. I used to get splitting headaches 3 to 4 times per week (they were pretty debilitating and miserable) and then I finally figured out my head was compressing badly while I slept, so I found a pillow that raised up my neck which fixed that core problem. I was still left with occasional stress headaches, which is where self-massage tools like this one come in. They work out the knots before they become a serious problem. Structurally, this device is made of a single solid piece of dense plastic. The amount of pressure needed to use it properly is nowhere near the amount of pressure that would be needed to break it. With general care, it should last several lifetimes. Overall, it is good, solid construction that feels very sturdy. In a pinch (e.g. a home invasion), it could be used as a defensive weapon. ... show more

Mw wife received this & used it for the first time 2 days ago. She gets a lot of knots in her back so daily I'm breaking down her knots because our massage gun went bad but I'd have to use it on her. Yesterday she brought it to work (she's a pre-school site supervisor of various locations) & had her co-workers try it out. They loved it. At least 3 of them are ordering one. 1 person told her to leave it at the center so everyone can use it & for her to order another one just for herself...lol! Light weight but hard so easy to use. Size is amazing because you can move your body in any position & it'll work. I don't see how this can't last a lifetime. Before ordering an expensive gun to massage you try this...excellent price, no help needed to get to problem areas, & like I said will last a very long time!!! ... show more
