  • Stunning looks behind the smoked glass cover on my Cougar Tower
Style: STRIMER 24PIN
Installed this on my Msi 570 carbon pro board and I gotta say it is stunning. I would have given this a five star, however the tight curl you need it to make coming off the board then looping back into the case leaves the inner row of wires trying to crush upwards. It took me hours trying to get this acceptable. I wish they would make this with the lower row of wires shorter with a pre curl! Instead of manufacturing them with equal length wires on both upper and lower rows while lying perfectly flat. Which is not how they end up. Virtually every aftermarket custom wire harness I have seen could use this thought. That simple change would make this totally a stellar product. Pretty sure I will take mine apart and shorten the lower row in the near future. That being said, I have friends now buying these as mine is just freaking cool. And yeah, I am an older guy, but really like the look here. The control module is an easy install and easy to use. Be careful when plugging the leads in though, as the board connectors are pretty flimsy. Looks even better with braiding like I did on mine. The color variations you can program have a pretty good selection. All in all, this is one of the most dramatic rgb additions you will ever add to your build! ... show more

  • Makes your pc POP. Got lots of compliments from friends
Style: STRIMER 24PIN
I love how this looks on my pc. It is a great addition to make it pop. They are both easy to install. It is basically an add on where you attach the Lian li 24/8pin to your previous 24/8pin cord, so you don't have to take your psu out (since it is too short). I have a 6pin gpu and it works. The 24 pin was easy to curve to my liking. However, the 8pin took longer to bend and put together because I had to take out the clear holders and flip it around so the rgb wires can attach to it. Be gentle with it to avoid it pulling out, but if you do, you can just unscrew it and put it back on. They provide you with a black rectangular chip that helps you organize the wires. For the 8pin, I tried it both ways where the clear end would be at the top that connects to my gpu and I personally like the black strip end where it says Lian Li on top better because that is where the rgb flows out of and the colors would be more vibrant. Some people do put the clear end on top, but it's up to your preference. If I had known that Lian Li came out with their Strimer plus, I would have bought that instead. They improved on their wires on that one. Overall, it looks really nice (: ... show more

  • Difficult Setup - ARGB control doesn't work with iCue
Style: STRIMER 24PIN
First of all, don't buy this for more than $40. That's retail price. Second, if you're PCMR RGB Gang, you know you need this. The problem is if you use an ASUS board with Aura, ARGB ports are only controllable with Aura Sync or Armory Crate. Thus, if you use Razer Synapse, Corsair iCue, etc... you'll have to use 2 programs to set it up the way you like. The problem is iCue natively has support for my motherboard from Asus the X570 E-Gaming. The problem is that it only controls regular 12V RGB ports but not the 5V ARGB ports. What a bummer. Who would have thought that older Gen 1 RGB tech would render an easier software setup and life. I'm sure as Corsair iCue Version 4+ continues to be developed, they will add support for ARGB ports on Asus boards. But as of March 2021... you have to wait. So in order to match everything, you're stuck to Single Colors, Rainbows or Temperatures. Everything else in-between light Rain, Lightning will have to wait :( ... show more

  • LEDs only mount on one side
Style: STRIMER 8PIN
The way these are built the LED part only mounts on one side of the power cable. So to have the LED facing out - you have to come to the graphics card from the top of the case (or at least above the graphics card and come in from the front). Like most ATX cases my power supply is on the bottom at the back. To run this from the top means to route the power cables to the back, up to the top and back out just to run the power back down to the graphics card. I guess this gives the best view and biggest viewing capability. But I don't want to route it that way. I have expensive RGB memory I don't need more light in that area. But at the bottom of the case, no fans (not rgb anyway) so some light down there is called for. If these were made with the cable guides being reversible or have the LED guides on both sides they would be awesome for any system. I cannot speak to the quality of the LED lighting as I never plugged them in. Oh, I almost forgot - the connector on the LEDs looks like a 3 pin fan power connector rather that a 3pin 5v RGB, or maybe even a Gigabyte VDG 3pin - would not have plugged directly to my motherboard (ASUS Gaming X570-Plus (WIFI)). Probably plugs right into the controller that comes with the 24pin. ... show more

  • They do work.... Sort of..
Style: STRIMER 8PIN
I was expecting much better from the reviews I've read about Lian Li's cable extensions and I was not impressed. I posted a picture to properly explain my dissatisfaction to avoid sounding knit picky. I have two RGB extension cables, The top 24 pin is a competitor and the dual 8 pin is the Lian Li, needless to say the Lian Li cable is not the brightest and I can't really blame poor power because they both plugged into the same source with the Lian Li first in line. The fact that the color fades so quickly off the color bar is bothersome. I'm going to try and rearrange the LED strip to put the brightest side at the top but really did not want a fat black controller bar being the focal point at the plugs. To be honest, I'm only keeping these extensions because the pain of fixing my wire management is greater than the financial costs; besides, they do work.. Sort of.. ... show more

  • It works.
Style: STRIMER 24PIN
It works. but it can be affected by the surrounding colors and looks a shade or two off. Very apparent when it's white, 255R, 255G, 255B. For example it looks like a light lime green instead of white. Installation could be easier. It's a 5V 3 pin I believe. It does come with a controller for an PcI slot if you dont have a compatible motherboard. I just plug it to the same strip as the one that controls my case RGB (Evolv X). At the discounted Amazon price, it is a good buy. If the lights dont work or fail you at least get a high quality 24pin extender that is white (which Cablemod charges $40+ for). ... show more
