  • Unbeatable value on a stunning phone!
For the price, this phone is phenomenal. I received my device brand new in box, with all original components in tact and new as well. Yes, this is an unlocked AT&T device, so there will be an AT&T logo on startup and a couple carrier specific apps, most of which can be disabled and hidden through app settings. However, the phone is certainly unlocked and works great with T-Mobile for me. Camera: The camera is probably the best I've ever personally seen on a smartphone that takes incredible shots with little effort. Videos are gorgeous and smooth thanks to the excellent hardware and onboard optical image stabilization. There are plenty of features to play with if you're into that, but the phone can point and shoot just as easily. Pictures are crisp and contain a lot of detail and the image processing does a great job of not blowing out images. Exposure is good and low light shots are very good. The pro video mode is great for creatung some very professional looking videos with ease, and the phone even has adaptive microphones for changing soundscapes from concerts to quiet nature scenes. Laser autofocus is fast and efficient. Honestly could not ask for a better camera at this price. Battery: Easy win here. With heavy use on wifi, I average between 6-7 hours of screen on time. Even if you are a power user, you should have no issue getting through the day on the 3300 mAh battery. Even if you do manage to burn through that much battery, the included quick charger will easily get you 50 percent battery in 35ish minutes in my experience. Wireless charging is also here which is a great convenient option. Display: The display is a 2k AMOLED panel provided by Samung (To the best of my knowledge). The display is sharp and color reproduction is awesome. You can adjust the resolution from 760p to 1080p to the max of 1440p. The screen is very bright and easily readable outdoors in direct sunlight. Great display. Build quality: Outstanding. Glass front and back with aluminum sides. Everything is spot on here. No large gaps or out of place pieces. Beautiful device all around. Buttons are clicky and tactile. The fingerprint reader is very fast and extremely accurate and is also the power button which is essentially LG's signature design feature and it works well. Overall: Unbeatable value considering this phone was over $700 USD at launch. I would venture to say it's definitely worth more than what you'll pay here. Highly recommend this device. ... show more

  • I'm very happy with this phone!
I previously had an LG Stylo 4 which was very slow, ran out of space all the time, always had to restart the phone and the receiver speaker stopped working all after one year of use. I really like LG features so I decided to try this phone due to the price, screen size and storage space. Everything about this phone is great, I have downloaded all the same apps as before and the performance is perfect. Phone doesn't freeze, it doesn't lag and the speakers are loud and clear. Oh and it takes the BEST wide angel photos that don't distort the photo. My only complaint is that I wish the battery lasted longer. I start using my phone at 8am and by 6:30pm its already at 8% battery. That's not ideal and if I know I will be put late I always bring my charger with me. I use my phone for work, lots of emails and texts throughout the day. I'm still very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Warning to anyone using other carriers! But still a great phone
Received the phone unlocked and new as promised. However, there are still other issues: You can't update the phone outside of AT&T network. Because this phone is still new in its box, its on an old android 8 version. If you want to update the phone, you need to connect to the ATT network with an ATT sim. LG and ATT have designed it this way. You won't be able to update it any other way, and the bootloader is locked. Supposedly it is possible to flash other firmwares onto the phone, but of course this isn't supported by LG. To do this, I had to obtain a ATT sim from walmart ($10 at walmart, 5$ from ATT) and a prepaid card (you can use a $10 prepaid card, but I found out they allow you to activate a single-day plan for only $2) That cost me $20, although it should be possible to do for $7. Either way, its stupid that I have to go through this just to update the phone. Shame on you ATT, and to LG for going along with it. Anyways, about the phone itself: This phone is at least 1 year old with a non-removable battery. After charging it a few times and measuring it with accubattery, the battery has lost 10% of its health, effectively making it a 3000mAh battery. Aside from that, this is an amazing phone. Its easily one of the best values for the price. The OLED screen is beautiful, it makes me want to re-watch everything I've ever seen using this screen. It plays all of the games I used to play on my V20, but with higher settings and is very smooth. The design is meh. I hate that every manufacturer feels the need to copy Apple's decisions. Nobody feels that they could stick to their guns or try to make a unique design. (Motorola's new flip-phone looks pretty neat though) I really with it was closer to the V20 in design, or some of the old HTC phones. But overall, the phone is really great. The sad thing is, this is the best high-end value phone LG currently has. (The V20 and V30 are still good if you're fine with their age) The V40? A new V40 (GSM version) costs over $600 (CDMA version is $330, if you're willing to switch), and is basically the same phone but with 3 cameras instead of 2. The G7? An IPS screen and only 4GB RAM. For the same price, its just not worth it. Especially now that I've experienced the OLED screen, I can't go back. The difference between these two phones is ridiculous considering these phones released only one month apart from each other. The V35 is basically a really hasty correction to the G7 when LG realized they released a sub-par phone. The G8? Hardware-wise, the G8 is a slight upgrade, with Snapdragon 855(vs.845), 128GB, and an extra camera. Its about $180 more than the V35 though. (Used ones are at $320-340, if you're willing to accept the risk then it might be worth it.) If only the V35 wasn't so tied to AT&T, I believe it would be much more popular as a $300 phone. ... show more
