  • and I really love the whole family
This is the 3rd Nexus phone in our home, and I really love the whole family. My husband had the Nexus 4 about a year after it came on the market, and as the second smart phone he's ever used (he'd be perfectly fine with a flip phone for the rest of his life) he thought it was user friendly, not too many crazy bells and whistles, and a fair value. Based on how he liked the 4 I decided to get the 5, which I thought had all the same attributes with some well designed upgrades and looked super cool with the white on black. Unfortunately Pokemon Go! took it's toll on that phone (don't rollerblade while watching your phone) and I needed to replace it so I thought I'd try out the 5X. The 5X overall is a great phone for those who aren't the most tech savvy or want to get the most phone for a reasonable price (who can afford $700 for a phone?!). I on the white back again because I just think it looks so sleek, and got a case that allows me to see how awesome it looks to prevent a repeat from the death of my 5. The fingerprint scanner is a nice touch to turn it on quickly, just make sure you do both left and right index fingers, however every once in a while it requires a lock pattern for extra security and I'm not sure why since I had just been using it. The OK google feature was super responsive when I first got it, and could even hear me over music playing if the phone was close enough to me...however now I think it's starting to have a hard time hearing me if I'm too far away or if there is ambient noise. Good news is I mostly use it when I'm driving to turn on navigation. The 5X is a little bigger than the 5. As a small female the 5 fit in my hand perfectly, so especially with the case on this was probably the biggest drawback for me. I did get used to it, but I still find that I am adjusting the phones position in my hand more often which increases the likelihood that I'll drop it. The battery life is actually pretty great for my usage. I've found I can get at least 2 maybe 3 days before charging it again, with turning on bluetooth only when I need it, keeping the screen at 50% brightness or less, and other basic battery saving stuff. And the quick charge is fantastic! There have been a lot of times that I have literally only had 10 min before leaving or while out to be near an outlet and getting 4 hours of battery in 10 min is the coolest thing for someone whose never had it before. Getting the UK version mean getting the international charge cable, but they included an American adapter which is great, however it sticks out of the wall about 4 inches and is overall just kind of awkward so while it will stay plugged in on its own, at the slightest nudge it will fall off the adapter. I guess plugging it into a power strip on the floor would solve the problem, but it's just kind of annoying. I really like the Google phones and will likely keep using them (assuming I can get the Pixel at a better price at some point). I already decided that I'm not going to get the 6 because it is just huge, but I'm sure that one is a great phone too for someone who can hold it. ... show more

  • A great mid tier phone!
Overall I think was the right choice. This is great for me as it will be used mostly in Argentina, where band 4 (and in the near future band 28) are used for LTE. However it works well also on AT&T and T-Mobile coverage areas. Design wise is certainly not the sexiest phone, however on daily basis you learn to appreciate it beside not looking great. Having the fingerprint reader is wonderful. I believe that there's no return from that feature (I can't live without it anymore) and it's certainly the largest benefit I see from my previous phone. Battery is just OK, I would say you could go through the day but paying some attention to the usage. GPS works well (not like the bad ones that came with the LG G2 or G3 for instance) and responds quickly. The phone updated to Android 7.0 almost inmediately and that's another big PRO: a seamless and clean Android experience! CPU feels ok for the phone though I would have like it to have more RAM (at least 3GB of Ram considering that even my old G2 had 2 GB). Rear camera is better than expected.. The phone has exactly the same screen size as the LG G2, however the body is larger.I do miss the "double tap" on the front to wake it up, something pretty useful while docked in the car. All in all, it's a great mid-level phone. ... show more

  • May Not Be Unlocked
It's hard to give this phone a rating but here it is. I bought the US version of this phone last year (H790). It's a great phone, I used my T-Mobile SIM card with no problems and I hope to keep it another year or two. I bought this international version when it was only $250 because it had the extra data bands for Europe when I travel. When I put the T-Mobile SIM card in I could not use it on their network without entering a network PIN. I thought the SIM card was locked in some way but the T-Mobile agent says it's the phone. I'm not sure what the problem is but all I could do is send it back. Two other things. A lot of the comments indicated the charger is not for the US but the one in the box had US plugs. Also, I noticed Amazon had another listing for this device at a higher price and different color. It also says "Unlocked" in the title but then shows AT&T as the service provider on the side. As it is I liked the phone from my previous experience but this one was useless. ... show more

  • I was really happy having it so quickly
Phone was new, sealed. It was delivered in one day in Las Vegas. I was really happy having it so quickly. The Android system was updated and it works really good. I was a little disappointed with the charger, it has a C type at both ends, so I had to by an adapter and a cable that has normal USB. Anyway I'm satisfied with the product. ... show more

  • Good performance, but it is too big and battery doesn't last very long
Nice phone but I expected the battery to last much longer. I am only getting about 3 hours of screen on time with normal use, however this does increase significantly with the battery saver mode. Other than that, the screen looks really nice and I really like the fact that I can use many of the services with my google account. Also the phone is a little too big, so it hardly fits in my pockets and bothers me when I sit down. On the positive side however this phone is fast and has good performance. ... show more

  • Recommended Seller, Recommended Phone!
First of all the phone is amazing. It's really fast. The camera is better than expected. Nexus Imprint works fine. Absolutely it deserves its value. And this version is Europe version (I know, it says on the topic but i did not notice at first) and it comes with an European adaptor. It helped a lot because i am using the phone in Turkey. No problem so far. And the good part it came with a converter in the box (mini usb to type c). With this converter, you can use your old mini usb cable (in the photo). Thanks for the converter, man. We bought another Nexus 5x for my friend but there was no such a thing in the box. ... show more

  • Awesome budget, not an all day battery though
Great value for the price, great looking screen, fast and responsive, light weight for your hand. Fingerprint sensor is quick and awesome. I don't give it Five Stars because the battery Does not last long enough. Should improve that. And another thing (not a big issue) is that If you turn it ON or reset it, it takes a long time to do it. ... show more
