Coming from a Nexus 5, I had high expectations for an Android device. The Nexus 5 offered a clean layout - vanilla experience. Companies have a load of bloatware, and usually "added features and functionality" are synonymous with "not as efficient devices". LG knew it was time to step up the game, and I wouldn't be surprised if they hand picked the developers for the G4. I've used the phone for roughly four months now, and after my fair share of experience with the device, I'd like to provide you with my own personal opinion. I'm not trying to compare this phone with some other phone because there are a plethora of websites/reviews doing so. Pros: + Clean layout. I don't recall this device every lagging behind in terms of performance. It's snappy and I advocate LG's decision to deploy it with the Snapdragon 808 processor. I don't see any performance constraints. + Camera - time and time again, we hear about the G4's superior camera quality. What I hear don't as much is about the optical stabilization. I was very impressed with the optical stabilization on this phone. + Knock on feature - can't live without it. I use it more than the power button. + Call Volume - loud and clear voice quality. + Removable battery & SD card - Need I say more? + Updates - some users of the H815 model (Europe) have already received the 6.0 Marshmallow updates. Things needing improvement: - Speakers - Works fine, but could be better. - Battery life - For example - Current battery usage - 11 h 14 min on battery, Screen Time 3 hours 15 minutes at 15% . Root, Greenify among other things will allow you increase the SOT. Users have reported up to 5 hours of SOT but, I have yet to test this out. If you don't care about the size, you can always install a higher capacity battery. Also, if you have an additional battery you can quickly swap it out. - Default wireless charging - needs a special case to charge wirelessly. I've been highly satisfied with the LG G4 and would recommend it for anyone looking to buy a new smartphone. In my opinion, it is the best smartphone in the current market. ... show more

This is a perfect device. Instead of going over everything that I like about it I'd like to comment on some of the other bad reviews and why some may be having issues. 1. You have to update the APN Name and settings manually to get 4G/LTE. For T-mobile I used this link [...] It takes all of about 5 minutes to do. 2. Some people felt the screen was rough.. just peel the plastic cover. Its hard to see. 3. Some mention that the speaker is weak and has low volume. Absolutely not true and the fact that the speaker is in the back does not effect it that much. Its a good sounding speaker and has some decent loudness and tone. 4. I bought a rapid charger and it works very good. I think you need to update the device software before it's enabled. There was a 70 mb update when I first powered it up. 5. This one is important!! When you first power up the device select English UK region. Then set up your Wifi. I did not set up my wireless at this point. Then go to the LG smart world and select UK region again and register it to the device option. If you do this you will have no issues updating your themes, fonts etc.. on the smart world site. This does not effect anything else as far as 4G, email, text.. I also suggest using a gmail account when setting up. I just got the device and its very fast. As it was setting up all my apps it did not get very hot. The box included a US plug and adapter, the phone as well as some really decent LG ear buds. Also the FM tuner works with excellent reception. The phone was new with all the seals intact. If you use a GSM carrier this phone is the best bang for the buck you will probably find. Hopefully the tips above will help others from getting frustrated and returning their device. Edit. I'm seeing the GPS really takes allot of power. If you want to increase battery life turn this off unless you need it. Many forums report the same thing. It works really good but it's power hungry. Second Edit. This device is DEAD. The infamous boot loop. Build date was 9-2015. I believe that was the last month they had the defective HW. It's a unlocked phone so no warranty even though LG knows they screwed up. I will say that if you do buy a new G4 it will probably be the best phone you ever owned. It's really unfortunate that those that bought the early builds got screwed. ... show more
