  • Nice Budget Ultrawide
Style: WQHD Pattern: Tilt and Height Stand
After years of rocking two monitors, I took the plunge and picked up this ultrawide. Got it on sale for $346. With Microsoft's "Fancy Zones" you can pre-configure zones for all kinds of tasks. I love being able to have a meeting in the center of the screen with presentations and documents surrounding it. It's also great for video editing and Captivate timelines. As for the monitor, easy setup/configure. Looks great. No dead pixels or issues. ... show more

  • Works great for working from home
Style: WQHD Pattern: Tilt and Height Stand
I bought this for working from home during the day as a software engineer and using this at night for digital art. This was my second test of a 34" ultrawide, the previous samsung was terrible for digital art, but it was also a cheaper VA model. Pros: This has made work so much better being able to see multiple windows next to each other. There is very little glare compared to the previous monitor I tried and the button for settings being on the bottom in the middle makes it so much easier to change inputs then if it were on the back. I was on a bit of a budget so I have not tried a curved monitor for comparison, but I don't find any problem with it being flat, but I also don't use this for any gaming. The color on this is great for the price. As a hobby artist I'm not looking for the best of the best, but it did need to be relatively accurate compared across multiple devices which I have found it's acceptable. Cons: I personally think that the stand isn't the best in both quality and function. It's mostly plastic. Moving the monitor up or down was just okay. The stand really depends on the weight of the monitor and I don't know if it would hold up for a long time or not. I decided to put it on a VESA mount instead for more desk room anyways but still could have more thought into the provided stand in my opinion. Side note: It was a weird set up to get the resolution correct with Mac OS. It's not so much the monitor but Mac OS but it was still a bit frustrating trying to google what the issue was. Also, who gives the user manual on a CD? The manual wasn't helpful at all but also had to search for my old external CD drive to even tell if there was anything useful in it. ... show more

  • Great UltraWide monitor....
Style: QHD Pattern: Ergo Stand
Love the design and the size. Went from having two monitors in an office to a single non ultrawide monitor at home. I am now 100% work at home and missed my double monitor. Since I have an Xbox connected I did not want two monitors so I got this baby. Could not be happier. The only nitpick I have is that the monitor stand is proprietary so if the monitor ever dies, the stand is useless unless you stick with LG assuming they don't change their design. A few gotchas on setup. If you are running stuff though a KVM switch makes sure you reboot your KVM switch as it won't recognize the new resolution settings if you don't. Also stay away from the "Custom" picture setting as it is really bad. I was about to send the monitor back and then I switched form "Custom" to "Vivid" and problem solved. UPDATE: Are you getting a flickering monitor? If so you can turn of/on the free sync. I saw this in a internet article but that did not help in my case. What did help was to adjust the "Black Stabilizer" setting to anything but 50/100. This is under the "Picture" and then "Game Adjust" menus. I bumped it up to 60 (lightens the blacks up slightly) and that fixed the issue. Before doing that I rebooted the monitor and it would temporarily fix it until one day it did not. I adjusted this the Black Stabilizer and that fixed it for good. One interesting thing was this only effected my latptop as my xbox had zero issues. I run both though a KVM switch allows my monitor/keyboard/mouse to be shared among multiple devices. ... show more

  • Well...you decide
Style: WQHD Pattern: Tilt and Height Stand
First of all, there is no manual. Go to their website and it's very difficult to find anything on this monitor. I was about to give it one star when I found information on a different LG monitor that worked here. Monitor is 3440x1440, yet when I hooked it up, my Windows 10 machine with a Radeon R9 270 suggested something 3840x2160, so I set it to that. How does a monitor exceed it maximum resolution? anyway, nothing I tried as far as different resolutions worked right. I got stretched photos and text or the entire screen would not be filled. I then found that there is a tiny swivel stick on the bottom of the monitor to go into settings (I kept getting popups to use arrow keys or press button to accept, but I searched the entire monitor and couldn't find any buttons). Well, I found a setting for INPUT and then ASPECT RATIO. I assumed Full Wide was correct, but it wasn't. Standard was proper ratio, but didn't fill full screen. Finally, I picked Cinema1, then switched to resolution 3440x1440 and it worked. I hope this helped someone because without a manual, how would anyone know any of this? [update 7/13/2020] my previous information was for an HDMI connection. I ordered a DisplayPort cable and using the full wide setting works and the color and clarity is much better by the way. refresh rate also went from about 30 to 60 now. I do not use it for gaming, just work from home and an occasional youtube video. ... show more
