  • Sleek, gorgeous, hi-res, good refresh rate, and support for accessories... I LOVE THIS MONITOR!!!
Okay, so it took me three tries to find the PERFECT monitor for my setup. And once I found it, I just couldn't NOT review it. Pros: 1. It's so pretty! - This is a 34-inch, super sexy CURVED 1440p beauty. 2. Resolution - I've been spoiled by dual 4k monitors at work so I just cant deal with anything lower than 1440p without gagging. This provides retina-equivalent resolution at a normal viewing distance of 25-30ish inches from the screen, making a higher resolution unnecessary. Love it. 3. Productivity - the main reason I wanted a 21:9 was because it's perfect for all applications. It's the equivalent of dual displays without any ugly black sidebars in-between my applications when I run them side-by-side. It's perfect 21:9 widescreen resolution for watching 1440p widescreen video. It's also perfect for an immersive gaming experience... more on that below. 4. Gaming - I've played horizon zero dawn PC and League of Legends on this screen. Phenominal experience on both. The curved makes the experience immersive and beautiful. The first time I ran a GPU benchmark on this puppy I was amazed. Gorgeous colors, amazing detail. The refresh rate might be a tad too low for serious competitive FPS games, but I wouldn't know as I haven't tried any on this screen yet. 5. Accessories - Last but definitely not least, this puppy has 2 USB ports on the back which are PERFECT for an external HDD and webcam. The engineers really thought this one through, because on the back there's also a USB-C for either display data or USB upstream for the accessories. Oh, and there's HDMI and DisplayPort so you can use whatever you want with this monitor. In short, after a month+ of using this, I couldn't be happier! ... show more

  • Great screen.
Style: 34 Inch Nano IPS Display w/ Thunderbolt 3 Pattern: Monitor
I’d been looking at this monitor and it’s other model for awhile, without finding much information at all online. I decided to take the plunge around Black Friday when it was on sale and I have absolutely no regrets. The quality of the monitor is great, and the stand and build feel sturdy and solid, which is appreciated given the price. I’ve heard about the “panel lottery” and I was a bit worried but the screen is phenomenal. Good contrast, no dead pixels, and a little BLB in the lower left but not enough to be distracting. I bought this monitor as an upgrade primarily for design work, so I needed something with good color accuracy and I wanted the extra screen real estate as well. I’m currently working from a pc and the screen is exactly what I hoped it would be. A little high saturation out of the box but I created a custom view mode to tone it back a bit and it looks perfect. If I bought it again, I ::might:: have bought a curved screen, but this is honestly a minor quibble. I tend to sit about a foot and a half or more from my screen and I don’t have any issue. I plan on buying a MacBook Pro sometime next year and will update the review based on how that works. I watch movies and do some light gaming as well and the monitor really shines here. Playing RDR2 on this is gorgeous. I have a 1070 gtx and can easily push 40fps at mid-high settings and I love it. If you’re a twitch FPS gamer and need a high refresh rate as well, this is probably not for you, but as a productivity screen first and gaming / movie screen second I couldn’t be happier. ... show more

  • single USB-C port (charging + display) broken after minimal use
Style: 34 Inch Nano IPS Display w/ Thunderbolt 3 Pattern: Monitor
The very essential USB-C port, which both charger and carries the video signal is broken. Charging+display via same cable was the key feature which lead me to buy the unit. I basically never plug/unplug it. I bought this unit 15 months ago, but didn't use it at all for 5 months. It's obviously manufacturing defect, but the warranty is only a year, so they won't cover it, and even if they did, they said they would claim that I damaged it, since I used the port and the female part (in the monitor normally) pulled straight out with the male part of the cable. Using the port damages it, voiding the warranty! Clever. There is only one such USB-C port. Lesson: any one of a) don't buy from LG. b) find a unit which has at least two USB-C ports which both charge and display, c) you could buy extended warranty, but they would probably play the same game of claiming that _you_ damaged the unit by using it as it was intended to be used. In any case: buyer beware!! ... show more

  • Love the screen size, but...
Purchased this monitor to use with my retina MacBook Pro. I love the screen size, but I was under the impression the resolution would’ve been a little better in terms of crispness.

  • Great color quality, adequate brightness, modest HDR. Low PPI not good for text.
Color quality is stunning with 98% DCI-P3 coverage. Not great for reading text -- it has a low PPI. It's not a upgrade over an 1080p monitor in that regard. Make sure you understand that although the spec says it's 75 Hz display, that refresh rate is only available under AdaptiveSync or GSync mode in games. In Windows only 60Hz is available. This panel prioritizes color quality over response time that allows it to cover 98% DCI-P3 color gamut. The monitor is great for movies, cinematic games, photo editing and to use as a quasi dual-monitor setup for work. It does have a game mode that would tune it for faster response time. Speaker quality is pretty decent in my opinion and it has good stereo separation which is useful with games and videos. The monitor has Picture-by-Picture mode which can display two video inputs side by side. HDR quality is modest and noticeable but it can be underwhelming if HDR is driving your purchase. ... show more
