  • Very good image for the price. No picture, gaming or video issues seen since setting up 5 days ago.

(Updated) For many years, I used a mismatched dual monitor set up that consisted of a 21” Acer and 22” Samsung models from around 2015. Even though this was adequate for a lot of basic things, it always drove me a little nuts they were of different sizes. Also the color calibrating on both models was a pain that never quite worked and the same videos/images were noticeably different hues depending on which monitor they were displayed on. Basically, it was time to get a dual monitor replacement set of the same brand and model. I also wanted something that was 4k capable, in the 25" to 29" size range, and of course something that would not break my budget. After spending a few months reading reviews of various models, I found that the LG 27UL500-W 27-Inch best matched my wants and needs. On Prime Day, Amazon discounted the price further, so I placed an order for a set ($279 ea). Setup: Very easy. To conserve desk space, I purchased a WALI Dual LCD Monitor Fully Adjustable Desk Mount Stand that had two arms. I had no issues attaching the monitors to the desk mount and running cables from the monitor to PC/outlets. Fit and Finish: I have not seen any bezel issues where they were pealing apart. They are not the thinnest and are about .25” around the top/sides. The bottom is wider. Since I use a desk mount stand, I have no comment about the stands that came with the monitors (they are still bagged). I like that LG put a toggle for the screen controls instead of a row of buttons. Picture: The picture quality so far is very good. I have not seen the light bleed a lot of commentators have noted. Ports: The LG 27UL500-W 27-inch has 1 display port (v1.2) and 2 HDMI ports (v2.0). No DVI or RGB15 ports. I assumed I that I could use DVI  HDMI/DP or RGB  HDMI/DP adapters. Neither RGB (which I expected) nor DVI adapters (which I did NOT expect) work with these monitors. So those that have older PCs/Laptops/KVM switches may be out of luck if the equipment does not support a DisplayPort or HDMI video connector (on my initial review, I deducted a star for this). So, my 4-port RGB KVM switch will not work (this was expected, and I am had my eye on a replacement 4-port HDMI KVM switch that supports dual monitor). For the PCs, it’s a matter of finding cheap replacement video cards that are PCIe x16 with 2x DisplayPort or 2x HDMI ports (but cheap ones do not seem common) and enough VRAM to drive this monitor (from what I read 1 GB should be more than adequate for 1080p since I do not plan to use these PCs for high end gaming). I did find that a passive HDMI to DisplayPort works so integrating a new HDMI KVM switch should not be an issue. Overall, I have been pleased with my LG 27UL500-W 27-Inch purchases. I also have a plan to work out my KVM/Cable/Monitors. If all goes well, I will likely raise my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Update 05/05/2020: I am raising my rating by a star - No image, video or audio channel issues have occurred with either monitor since I purchased them July 2019. These monitors are in near daily use, are powered on/off often and subject to resolution changes a few times a month. The audio channel is constantly used through one of the monitors for steaming video from a ROKU that is connected to one of the monitors. I fully integrated these two monitors to use with a 4 dual port HDMI KVM switch. My only disappointment was that an old ROKU SE did not work with the monitors via the HDMI port. This was most likely due to the ROKU SE inability to support 4K. Using a ChromeCast and a ROKU streaming stick had no issues with either LG monitors). ... show more

  • Good for the price
Style: Year 2024
I just got this today and it's my first 4k monitor. It looks great, I primarily type all day and wanted nice clear text which it does well, as long as it lasts I'll be very happy with it. I played a 4k YouTube video and it looked amazing but that's not my use case. The one thing I would have preferred is a slight curve, at what I'd call a normal sitting distance the very left and right edges suffer from off axis fading. I primarily use the center section of the screen but if I cared about the edges it would bother me. ... show more

  • Excellent, Crystal Clear, world class in every way, Amazon Warehouse Open Box, LOVE IT!
Style: Tilt
Great news for the LG 27UL500-W 27-inch 4K UHD UltraFine Computer Monitor. I purchased mine as an open box from Amazon Warehouse, and I'm beyond impressed. The crystal-clear 4K resolution and vibrant colors make everything look stunning, whether I'm working or watching videos. I use it with Amazon's Firestick which are the very best for streaming imho. Despite being an open box, the quality was excellent, no blemishes and the price was unbeatable for such an outstanding high-performing monitor. Seriously, a fantastic value for anyone looking for a budget-friendly, powerful display. If you find this on sale, do not hesitate. ... show more

  • Very nice 4k monitor
Style: Year 2024
It's a great display for my laptop. The image is really clear and bright. The only problem is its stand, which is made of flexible plastic, causing the monitor to shake when the desk is moved or bumped.

  • A great and affordable 4k HDR(ish) monitor.
Style: Tilt
This LG monitor is, in one word, great. Out of the box, it came with a color calibration sheet, and told me about gamma, delta E (<5) , and white balance (3500K). Once activated on the OSD, Freesync was immediately dected by my Radeon Software, which was nice. The monitor looks great, with nice brightness (more on that later) and clarity. It came with both a Displayport 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 cable, as well as a small external power brick. The stand is good, and has some weight to it, however I did not use it, and instead took advantage of the 100mm VESA mounts. Back to the display. I see this monitor as "HDR 10" compatible, and windows 10 detects this as an HDR monitor, but please note, it only has a peak brightness on about 350 nits, making it more HDRish. The bezel sizes are alright, but nothing special. I personally would not use this monitor for Competitive gaming, as the response time is not great and it is only 60hz, however it does have Freesync, so more cinematic games look great. Video consumption and production on this thing is nice as well, and I would definitely recommend this monitor. For the last image of both monitors, the one on the right is the LG 4K monitor, which has an IPS panel. The left one is an older Samsung VA panel, at 1440p. ... show more

The monitor arrived on the scheduled day and in perfect condition. It unpacked easily and I really liked the white back feature. Even the cables were white. I have my monitor near a window and the white is less visible from the street, so it was a great choice for me. The picture quality is excellent and the higher resolution has allowed me to split the screen and easily work on two side-by-side documents. ... show more

Works as intended. Good sharp, clean picture. Everything was as I would expect with a new monitor. I'm happy with the screen. Arrived well packed and on time. 5 stars.

  • Great dispaly
Style: Tilt
Purchased this as I'm getting more into photo editing and the laptop began showing its shortcomings. Out of the box the colors seem to be right on par with my printer. The only setting I really had to tone down was the brightness. I learned quickly that if you're working in a moderately bright environment and have your monitor up so you can better see it when competing with ambient light, you will subsequently get dark prints. There are many settings you can get into and a several profiles available. Looking forward to getting a calibration tool to fine tune, though it's mostly because I'm "that way" about things being just right. It's a great monitor at a great price. ... show more
