I look forward to using this net this winter. Typically , I throw the fish that I catch on the ice. I then have to thaw them before cleaning them. With this net, I can keep the fish alive until I am ready to pack up and leave. I like how long the net is in case there is very thick ice. Having foam floats at the top will be nice, too. I also like the adjustable cord for anchoring it to the ice, and having a handle on each side will make it easier to pull out of the water. It is very lightweight, so I hope the mesh holds up to ice, cold water, and sharp fins. You can't beat it for the price.

I like to ice fish, but I dislike taking frozen fish home. I had been bringing a cooler along and filling it with water to keep the fish fresh, but I thought this basket might be a better option. I will say that the netting was a little flimsy for what I would have liked to have seen. I also feel they could have coated the net in some sort of a rubber material so that it would not easily freeze to the ice when the conditions are cold outside. I found that this worked best inside of a hole in my fish house that had the heater running, and no outside air to freeze the holes up. Even then, I had to make sure about once an hour to lift it up and make sure it was not freezing into the sides of the hole. So while I think this is a good idea, I think they need to use rubberized netting material to prevent some of the issues that I had. Or, just make sure to use this when it will be in a warm environment so that it will not freeze to the sides of the hole.

We have experienced a very mild winter so far, but even with unseasonably warm temps the fish basket froze to the ice, and had to be chipped away. I will try a plastic pail sized for the hole with the bottom cut out, to elevate the bag above, and away from the sides. I will update this review, with my results.

I’d never thought about having a live well ice fishing but it is a game changer. I finally got to use it and it’s so nice. The days of having to take home frozen fish that have been sitting in the ice all day is over. The fish stay fresh and much easier to work with by sitting in the water. And the design is great. I never had worries of the net falling into the hole. I highly recommend this as part of your ice fishing gear.

I had 8 panfish in the well but could not pull them all up through the 8" hole the well was sitting in. I had to manually pull each fish back out of the well. I left the well sitting on the ice and it froze to the ice. Upon pulling it from the ice it froze to it ripped in multiple places.

Love this net is just like the one from clam outdoors but a much lower price. It came in a pack of 2 and they are just perfect to keep your fish alive in case you have a size limit to catch and want to bring home your best catches.

This ice fishing bag appears a little flimsy at first glance. We have not put it through the test yet, but as somebody who fishes, I know that these types of items (and tools of the activity) need to be built with a little bit of gusto. As they get put through the wringer when out and about in nature. They need to be able to handle not only the weight of the fish, but the general rigger of the outdoors. One of the first things I noticed was that the stitching was loose on a couple of the seems. But other than that it looks as though it can handle the job.

These seem like they will work well for panfish and smaller "eater" walleyes which is what i am planning to use them for so they fit the bill. I like how long they are to get below the ice a ways in the dead of winter when ice can be 24" or more in some cases. I will say that the netting material is lighter than clam and other brands of these I have had but i think it will still get the job done. The price for a two pack would suggest not quite as durable but i think for this price they will fit the bill and perform as well. Time will tell with hard water right around the corner. If my opinion changes on these after use I will update my review.
