  • Don't Follow the enclosed Directions - Price dropped $22 two weeks after I bought these stools
Color: Brown Size: 24"SH
The stools went together pretty good. I bought four of them. 1. Assemble all the parts for a single stool, including the washers, screws and Allen wrench. There are NO spare parts. 2. Put a lock washer and flat washer on 6 of the screws. The lock washer should go on first and the shinny smooth side of the flat washer should also be toward the head of the screw. 3. Remove one stool seat and the stretcher ring (foot rest) from the plastic bags and put the vinyl side face down on a rug or countertop. Make sure not to damage the vinyl seat during assembly. 4. Put two legs on the inverted bottom of the stool with two screws each. Finger tight only. They can be next to each other or opposite each other. 5 Put the bottom rail on the bottom of the two legs, where the legs are indented. 6. Put a lock washer and a flat washer on the remaining 6 screws (as you did in step 2) 7. Put on the remaining two legs, one at a time, attaching the stretcher ring to each. Finger tight only. 8. Tighten the stretcher, foot rail, with the Allen wrench (hex key). Be careful. The wrench is not hardened steel and can be rounded easily. I used my own Allen wrench, which is hardened steel, the same size to make sure the screws were tight on the ring and the legs into the base. 9. Tighten the remaining screws with the Allen wrench. Double check that ALL screws are tight for each leg. 10. Flip the stool over onto the floor. You should be done. If you have any questions, look at the instructions, but I never did once until I finished assembling all 4 stools. I had to pry up a couple of the pads on the bottom of the legs and pound them in closer to the center of the leg. ... show more

  • Swivel seats perfect for a small area!
Color: Green Size: 18"SH
Furnishing a new (to us) house, I ordered four mission style dining chairs online. They were too tall for my small dining area! I didn't want to block off the dining area with the tall chairs, so I decided on these 18" high swivel stools. They are perfect for solving the visual/scale problem. They also allow for easy access as I get up/down to get the salt, etc. I chose the green to emphasize the leaves of the bamboo trees outside and also pick up the colors in the lamp and rug, also purchased on Amazon, My husband put the two stools together seemingly quite easily. There was, however, one screw hole which was not right but he rigged it with something. Haven't been home much to use the stools, but I'm happy with the colors and that it appears to be of good quality, not cheap and rickety. Most of all, it solved the problem I was trying to solve. ... show more

  • Revised - 2 stools broke 8 months after - initially first review of 4 starts saying Stool is good
Color: Brown Size: 24"SH
Initial review is below - update. We are retired couple and use the stools for breakfast and maybe occassionally during the day - not a heavy use. Two of the stools started to wobble significantly this last month. We found ball bearings on the floor under the stools. The stools still rotate and once you sit on them are fairly solid but the fact this has happened in less than a year after purchase is disappointing. There is no direct way to contact the seller at this time so updating the review here. We really like the look and initial use of it, just disappointed they broke so soon. Initial review The stools were shipped and delivered in good time. They are now assembled and look good. We ordered 4 stools they come packaged 2 to a box. The first 2 stools assembled just fine. However had difficulty with the bolts and washers in the second box. They were not in small bag like the first box we opened. Counted the bolts and fortunately all the bolts were there, but were short some of the washers (which are key to successful assembly). I had spare washers that I was able to utilize. The original box was completely sealed and not damaged so why the hardware was not contained in a small bag is a mystery. Then one of the stools, in the 2nd box after installed it wobbled slightly on level floor as if one legs was just a fraction of an inch shorter. The stools have rubber tips on bottom of legs to prevent scratching the floor. I went to Lowes and found replacement tips so I could balance the stool. The stools work great with our counter height eating area in the kitchen. The swivels do swivel just fine and they are move comfortable than the hard wood seats we replaced. Overall satisfied with the purchase, and they should last us many years. ... show more

  • Quality control issues that detract from the overall experience
I purchased the red 18" stools for use with my retropie arcade. Unfortunately, there were some quality control issues with the set I purchased and that's really unfortunate because I felt I needed to rate this only 3 stars even though they ultimately look good when I was done putting it together and they were comfy as well. The first issue I came across was that one of the wood block a leg bolts to was not aligned correctly, which meant the leg wouldn't fit properly. Easy enough to fix with a wood chisel and hammer, but no one should have to do that. I posted a photo and circled in red the problem area that I shaved down with the chisel (photo taken after I fixed the problem). The second quality control issue was that one leg was missing a floor protector. It was never installed because there wasn't a visible nail hole. So I took a trip to the hardware store to get a replacement, but I was unable to find an exact match. Couldn't even find one that matched the same height so I ended up replacing ALL of the floor protectors because one was missing. There were a couple of little nicks here and there on the legs, but they weren't terrible. Noticable though if you look for them. ... show more

  • Missing hardware in both boxes
Color: Red Size: 24"SH
Ordered four stool, so two boxes. Each box had missing hardware. The bolts, spring washers and flat washers were not properly sealed in either box, so they were tossed around inside. With a flimsy tape job and some shipping damage to the outer box, I’m sure my missing hardware is somewhere between here and China. For the stools I was able to put together, they are sturdy and they look good. Just disappointed in only being able to put three of my four stools together. ... show more
