  • Solid construction and eye popping colors all for a good price.

I bought this guitar strap for a knock off red Gibson flying v that I bought from eBay a while back. It definitely took me a while to decide which guitar strap to hook it up with so while I was scrolling casually on Amazon for guitar straps, BAM, this Levy's Leathers Weave Hootenanny came up. It caught more than just my eye. It caught my full attention big time. What really attracted me to this particular guitar strap was the ornate Oriental-esque, psychedelic floral design along with the red, black, and white color scheme that just really compliment the floral pattern. And again, like I usually say in some of my other reviews, the picture does it no justice whatsoever. When I received it in the mail, I was genuinely looking at a piece of art. The material is very soft to the touch and while playing my guitar standing up, the strap itself doesn't slide across my shoulder like other guitar straps. It stands in place nicely and is relatively comfortable too. The end pieces of the guitar straps...I don't know what they are called but they are the large black pieces with the Levy's L logo stamped on them, they are of high quality. The reason why I mentioned this is because I use metal washers to hold my guitar strap in place instead of using the traditional guitar peg to clip the strap on manually or strap locks (they can be pricey) but I play my guitar standing up alot so the weight of the guitar and the washers hold the strap in place truly depends on the integrity of those end pieces of the guitar strap. The price itself is not too bad. I've seen some really bad guitar straps (more so in design and material) that had enormous price tags....and I've seen some ridiculously bad guitar straps (again, more so in design and material used) where the prices truly reflect the item. In other words, CHEAP!!!..And then I've seen some really beautiful guitar straps where I wouldn't even dare dish out the money that they ask for....But this strap, for the price, the material and construction that went into it, you can't beat it. For just under 20$ you are not just getting a "guitar strap" oh no but you are merely adding an extension to your guitar. You are adding to it personality, a life of its own. If floral patterns are not your thing then look else where. If they are, consider this strap and consider adding it to your guitar collection. You won't regret it. ... show more

  • Good for the price.

Levy's has this same strap in a "vintage" version which uses tarnished brass buckles and has worn-looking leather ends and leather backing. Souldier also makes great "vintage" straps that use brass buckles and custom colored leather/vinyl ends and "seat belt" backing. Both the above are significantly more expensive than this! If you truly want the vintage look/vibe, then go with the more expensive version also by Levy's. If you want to really customize all aspects of your strap, go to the Souldier site and build you a strap. But if you don't really care all that much, then go with this. (Who's gonna be looking at your strap that close anyway?) The backing is the nylon webbing type that you would find on your cheap-o $10 straps; as are the black plastic buckles. The ends are **thick** leather and seem durable. If you use Schaller/Grover/Fender style strap locks...it is extremely difficult to get the locks onto the strap because the leather is so thick. I have 3 different Levy's straps; in 3 very different price ranges; and they all took some work to get the strap locks on there. If you buy a Souldier; this is not an issue as they have a "strap lock" option that makes the hole bigger and excludes the slit above the hole. When I compare this strap to my Souldier: 1. This strap feels thicker because the nylon is thicker than the Souldier seatbelt. 2. This strap feels lighter probably also due to the differences in the nylon versus the seatbelt material. 3. The pattern embroidery on this is not as "tight" as the Souldier. I don't know what the correct term a tailor would use; but think of it as more "thread per inch" on the Souldier. And if you crumple the Souldier, the pattern stays in place. Whereas if you crumple this Levy's strap, you can see space between the threads that make the pattern and you can feel space between the pattern top and the nylon backing. So overall, a Souldier strap is without a doubt much higher quality; but is the Souldier really worth 3x the price? Up to you! ... show more

  • Absolutely Perfect!!!

What a great strap! I had a hard time finding a green strap that didn’t look cheap and I wanted something classic with a good looking pattern, NAILED IT LEVY’S! The Amazon pics don’t do it justice at all…added one of my own. The strap is comfortable, arrived quickly, plus I noticed how awesome the quality is. I have a couple other straps that look good but the ends feel like thick cardboard or something…not very pliable. This Levy’s strap has soft but sturdy tips, the embroidery is flawless, doesn’t cut into my neck/shoulder, and it’s under $20 bucks! If I can find the right color/pattern I’m about to buy 2 more. Get yours! ... show more

Nicely made strong strap with colorful pattern. It fits my ovation quite snuggly, I bought some retainers, but found them unnecessary so far. I couldn't remove this strap if I wanted to, well I could but its just too much work. So it will stay where it belongs for a few years at least. The only thing I don't like about this strap is the edge of the strap is a bit abrasive on my bare neck. Not a problem in the cooler months when I'm prone to sweaters and such, but in the summer it takes a bit of getting used to. It's made of a canvassy cotton, so its strong, but its also a little rough. I'm going to try waxing the edge with canning wax or candle wax and see if that smooths it down a bit. It is a very nice strap and will last years. I like it almost as much as my 40 year old ACE strap, which is much softer due to 40 odd years of use and abuse by a multitude of musicians. But finding an old ACE for anything close to this price is a fools journey. Buy one, then keep your eyes out for a hootenanny. You'll be ready..... ... show more
