I have two of these air filters, specifically for dust. In my rental apartment, they use cheap carpeting that makes more dust than I have ever seen in my life. I have to clean everything in the apartment every 2 weeks because of dust accumulation. The filter units are pretty quiet on Low and Medium. But on High, they are pretty loud, but they move a lot of air at that point, too…so it’s a trade off. The noise mostly comes from air flow, and there really isn’t much you can do about that…unless you get a filter unit that has been superbly engineered, and probably costs 3x as much as this one. About every 3 weeks, I remove the filter media from the bottom of the unit and vacuum the diarist and lint accumulation from it, and re-insert. The filters don’t really get that dirty beyond the fine mesh wrapping, the dust particles I deal with aren’t that small to penetrate the mesh. I did buy extra filters for the units though. I keep them on 24/7 on medium speed, and they work pretty well. I even keep one under my night stand by the bed to filter that air. On medium speed, it is quiet enough to sleep well, I don’t even notice it. ... show more

I love this product. I live in an apartment and my downstairs neighbors are always smoking INSIDE their apartment. This air purifier helped take away the smoke scent from my neighbors that was coming INTO MY APARTMENT! My husband is a very light sleeper and any noise or light bothers him. I bought this one product because of the sleep mode and he does not hear it. You can adjust the settings for the noise level and you can turn off the lights from the buttons. I also have noticed the bedroom is not as dusty, we are constantly cleaning, but dusty magically appears all the time. With this product I have also notice I sleep throughout the night and I do not wake up as sick or congested from my allergies. If you need an air purifier I RECOMMEND THIS ONE! ... show more

I had to move into my bedroom to use it as an office and workout space since COVID hit. For some reason I was having a sore throat for months, probably due to dust and mold and my dog. The purifier has helped a ton, my sore throat is gone. I'm a really sensitive sleeper so I use the sleep mode and I can hear it but it's not a deal breaker. i have it in small bedroom 2 dogs and one cat sleep with me i have copd and use a fan plus ac i use a bigger one in livingroom for 6 months and i love how it cleans air so i like the reviews on levoit so i have used it 3 weeks now and oh what a big improvement i use it at night in my bedroom on sleepmode and turn it off in morn. my room smells much better and i use oxygen and can tell my breathing is so much better. i love this unit it sits on my dresser and is energy star for electric bill and filter lasts 6months price was great!!! ... show more
