I bought these for my honey. He is 5' 8" tall, 205 lbs.He had wanted these shorts as they had 3 snaps on the 2 cargo pockets (he likes to store his wallet and sundry items) they don't bulge out or are too tight, enough room is there. The material is light in weight, not hot, not thick. No issues with washing (cold water, tumble dry)-still look good. Dressier than knit or cotton shorts. The shorts hit right above the knee, able to perform many jobs around the house with them on, no pinching or pulling noted. Hope this helps as I rely on other people's reviews....

I'm about 6'4'' and 250lbs. I've recently been extremely frustrated by the modern trend of shorter shorts for men. On a big guy like me they just look ridiculous if it's even possible to get them on. I've also been frustrated by Dickies sizing, they are always extremely small and uncomfortable on the waist, but there doesn't seem to be that many other options these days. I'm really glad I found these, I'll be buying a second pair. If you are looking for a normal fitting pair of shorts that aren't too big and baggy or way too short these are perfect.

My husband had a pair of these from what must have been a decade ago. I can't really say exactly when he got them, but he's had them since before we met, and that was a few years ago now. They were ratty and threadbare around the edges, and he finally ripped a big hole along the lower hem on one leg, where an existing smaller hole caught on something while he was moving around. Rrriiip. They were well beyond repair. But he continued to wear them anyway. Now, I'm a real laid back girlfriend/wife. I get the old comfortable clothes/ chairs/ whatever kind of stuff, and I usually don't push my guys (past and present) to get rid of things. Heck, I have stuff like that myself. You let the ratty shorts slide, sure, okay. But the shorts that literally have a 5" tear along the lower hem, those have gotta go. That's when you go... babe, get a new pair of shorts, and then when he doesn't, you hunt the same pair of shorts down online. That's how I got here, and bought these. Haha! They're as sturdy as the last pair, new, and they immediately became his favorite pair of shorts. He mostly stopped wearing the ratty ones, except for when these were in the wash. Now, I got him a 38, because that's what the old ones were, and they do fit him nicely. However, I've measured him, and his waist is more around 40-42 depending on placement. He can wear these shorts without a belt, mostly, but he still puts one on when going outside. So they might run a tad large. Really, depends what you expect in pants. If you expect to have to wear a belt, then probably order at your normal size. If you like to go sans-belt, maybe order a size down. Enjoy your shorts, guys. They're actually really good quality.

If you're buying these shorts with an eye for their length at 9.5 inches, you may want to think again. The fit of these also translates into them having an overly long crotch that adds an additional 1.5 to 2 inches length to them, which beyond having annoyingly long crotch, makes them knee-rubbing in length. Pretty sloppy design on Levi's part in my book. These would be nice shorts otherwise, but the design leaves a lot to be desired. Are they expecting people want to store more than their normal junk in the excess space?

The zipper on these shorts is a joke and ruined the otherwise good product ! The tad to pull up your zipper is a joke . The tab is about a 1/8 inch long and about about 1/8 inch wide . It is way too small and hard to find and grip . And just to add to the problem there is a flap of cloth that the tab can sink down under where you cannot get at the tab at all . About the 10th time this happened I tried to cut open the flap to get to the tab and ended up throwing away a pair of shorts I really liked . Bad zipper , bad buy !

I ordered 3 of these shorts, all size 34, in black, gray and khaki. Every pair of shorts/pants I own are 34. These came in and were HUGE on me. Like, I could fit my entire balled up fist between the waistband and my body. One pair was significantly less huge than the others, though. Anyway, thinking 1) something may be up and 2) these maybe run big, I reordered size 33. These came in and were just as large on me as the 34s; there did not seem to be a bit of size difference between the two. Anyway, back they all go, shopping elsewhere for a different brand.

DISCLAIMER: The shorts that are painted are NOT these shorts. Used for comparison of the pockets. These shorts are almost perfect. The buttons protrude, look like stains, and are hard to access.(pic related, non painted) I would of liked to see Velcro instead. I wouldn't mind the extra stitching. When your trying to close the pocket you have to line up the buttons perfect and its hard when your sitting down, have a lot of things in your pocket, or in certain situations. Velcro would allow for a lot easier closing and opening. Other than that these shorts are perfect. You dont look like a cholo with your shorts looking like pants. The pockets are large and not bulky. Rather than have bulky and smaller pockets (like other cargo shorts) These pockets are slim, really big, and have technology in the stitching so you get the same outcome without them bulging.(pic related, dont mind the paint. I now use those shorts for work) If you carry lots of things in your pockets. These will work perfectly. I keep a pack of cigs (i know i should stop), lighter, wallet, keys (with about 13 keys on it), phone, battery pack for phone, and a small pill case. I keep the phone and battery in a separate pocket and my wallet in a separate pocket. And i still have room for more things.
