I like the Fire Dot second focal plane MOA for my hunting rifles, this magnification range is all I want, I don’t shoot “long range” when hunting. Great glass. I think the Vx-6 HD also has a reticle that blinks when youre off level and that'd be a nice feature, but this scope is solid. The reticle i got is well designed, the scope tracks and holds zero. This is good kit.

This VX5HD 3-16 w/Windplex reticle is all the power I need and only weighs 19oz. Once I develop the load I will put a custom dial on it. Then all I have to do is range, dial the range and the windplex reticle is sufficient to deal with the wind without having to dial.. The optics are bright and clear, and the reticle is easy to see when peering into dark timber areas. I did not buy an illuminated reticle and do not regret that decision at all. I can easily see before and after legal shooting light so no regrets there. The power is all I need, and now that I have removed the 2.5lb boat anchor scope and installed this Leupold my rifle is light and comfortable to hunt with. American made, lifetime warranty-what's not to like! ... show more
