  • Great little journal
Size: Medium (A5) Style: Squared Color: Black
Great little journal. I use it for a bullet journal (surprise!) and it holds up super well. It's got an index and numbered pages, which is super convenient--especially because I tend to misnumber the pages on other journals when I try to do that. I'm picky with my notebooks--I prefer grid paper and a soft cover, and (though this journal is not the type of softcover I was expecting, but is reinforced with cardboard, which I actually have grown to like) I'm glad I was able to find that in a Leuchtturm. The pages are a pleasant slight cream color, very similar or maybe slightly lighter than those of a Moleskine. There's a border around the grid so you can be sure the squares are lined up, which is awesome. The journal also comes with a sturdy little inner pocket in the back, two ribbon page markers, and a band to hold it closed. Overall, a very well-made, sturdy little notebook. If you're torn between this and a Moleskine, just do what your heart desires. There aren't any HUGE, GLARING differences here, though the table of contents and pagination are very nice. I'd absolutely purchase one of these again. [Pictured: my A5 size Leuchtturm next to my extra large Moleskine softcover for color/grid comparison, etc.] ... show more

  • The Best Notebook I Have Ever Used
Size: Medium (A5) Style: Squared Color: Black
This is perhaps the best notebook I have every used. I use this both for journaling and bullet lists and it handles both tasks with ease. The size is just right, it lays flat as advertised, it is extremely durable (I take it everywhere), the paper is perfect, the grid darkness is ideal and it includes numbered pages, date lines and a index. I really cannot say enough good things about it. Coming from Moleskine, this is in a totally different class of journal. I switch up my pens on a regular basis and I have had zero trouble with bleedthrough and only slight showthrough with certain pens. Here is what I have found. Kaweco Sport Fountain Pen, Fine Nib, Royal Blue ink - No bleed, moderate show-through. Staedtler Pigment Liner 0.3 - No bleed, extremely light show-through. Sakura Pigment Liner 0.3 - No bleed, almost no show through. Sakura Pigment Liner 0.5 - No bleed, light show through. Pilot G2 in blue - No bleed, light show through. Sharpie Fine Pen - No bleed, moderate show through. All-in-all, it has handled all the pens I have thrown at it. And whereas Moleskines start to feel loose and the paper gets worn after some usage, the Leuchtturm still looks pretty dog-gone close to new. I love it so much I had a leather cover made so that I will have a case for all my Leuchtturm notebooks that will follow (see pic). If you journal, bullet note, write or do technical drawings on the go, you really can't beat it. ... show more

  • Leuchtturm 1917 is Elite!
Size: Moyen (A5) Style: Ruled Color: Forest Green
The media could not be loaded. The quality of the notebook is unbeatable! The pages never bleed through. I like that the notebook has a bookmark and elastic to keep it closed!

  • Perfect personal journal
Size: Moyen (A5) Style: Dotted Color: Forest Green
This has been my go-to journal for years. Great quality, and the sizing is convenient enough to take almost anywhere but still have enough room to comfortably write on the page. Very quality, and I love that there are two page holders!

  • Good for starter bullet journals and/or light use
Size: Medium (A5) Style: Dotted Color: Black
Pros: I like the index at the beginning of the notebook, the pre-numbered pages, and that as a softcover notebook it's lightweight. There's also a handy pocket at the back. Cons: There is some ghosting with the pages, though with the pens I am using (mostly Sakura Gelly Rolls, Pitt artist pens, and triplus fineliners) it's not too bad. Additionally, I don't think I am being too hard on the notebook but I did have to use some double-sided tape to keep the cover attached to the spine. The softcover notebook also has about 120 fewer pages than the hardcover, and one bookmark instead of two. Overall, I think this is a good notebook to get if you know you aren't going to be too hard on it and won't have to worry about accidentally detaching the cover from the spine. If you are thinking about getting into bullet journaling but aren't sure if you'll stick with it, I think this is also a good choice because it is cheaper than the hardcover Leuchtturm so you have less to lose if you don't stick with it. Once I fill this one, though, I think I'm going to trade up to the hardcover so I'll have the extra durability, pages, and bookmark. ... show more

  • The only notebooks I use
I buy at least 3 of these notebooks a year and here's why. Ink doesn't bleed through the pages. Pages do not tear from the binding. There's a helpful pocket inside the back cover. There's an index page and all the pages are numbered in the notebook. Cover holds up well and doesn't disintegrate with heavy use. Bookmarker ribbons are helpful and there are several of them. My only complaint is I wish the notebook would lie flat. I write in these sideways (meaning I turn them so the binding is at the top and the page is landscape oriented) so when I can't write on the backs of pages I only use half the pages in the book. Regardless I keep buying these because they are so well-made. ... show more
