This presents as an amazing present. Any kid would be thrilled to get this. Any kid would be the envy of his friends when telling them he got this. You get a VR headset, which is the main thing. You also get a nice space book, a sticker book, a model to build, the cube thing, and a nice poster. The VR headset needs some work. It holds the phone, on which you run the app that you're watching. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A52, so not a super old phone. I had to remove the case, which was suggested in the instructions and then it still didn't fit into the headset. The enclosure holding the phone kept popping open--wouldn't close completely, so I tore out the foam. The headset area that surrounds the phone is then open on both sides, which is a huge design flaw, and the phone fell out while we were using the headset (my now caseless phone). (My phone did survive, phew!) I'm going to have to modify this further to make it safe to put my phone in. The headset is adjustable, so that's good. I'm not sure how far it will tighten down. My husband and I used it without any problems. The app.... This product is clearly marketed towards children. I think it may be produced in Europe or something where they're a little more lax about this, but there was profanity in at least 1 of the 8 videos that I watched. Another of those videos would not load at all. When it says that there are 16 360 videos and 16 VR experiences, and 16 things on the cube--well, that's definitely misleading, because the implication is that your getting 48 different pieces of content. The VR videos and the 360 videos are identical. So the video that did not load in VR also did not load in 360. The cube is not identical content, but basically duplicated information, just displayed a little differently. There are 6 quizzes on the app as well. So, you're not getting as much content as is implied, and it's not actual VR, just a version where you need to let your kids use your phone and risk it getting damaged. However, overall, I'm pleased, but the value for what you're actually getting, what's actually in the box, is not there. Most of the value for this comes from the "free" app you're downloading, and that's not perfect either. But, if you're looking to WOW your kids--this'll do it! And I think the whole family will enjoy this, but it's not recommended for younger kids. Just preview the videos first to make sure you're ok with them. ... show more

My daughter and I have spent hours exploring our solar system in an immersive, 360 degree augmented reality, the smartphone compatibility makes it easy to use and the headset itself is light and comfortable, the graphics and sound are amazing and give us the feeling of actually being in space, the are tons of interactive activities and educational facts to explore, and the bonus content like movies and games makes it even more fun, overall, this is a great product with lots of family friendly fun, i most certainly recommend it. ... show more

Full disclosure: I got this for myself, not for a kid. As a physicist I've long had an interest in astronomy and the space program. I tried my best to come up with justification for a 5 star review, but the set just isn't that good. Of course, for the price, I shouldn't expect too much, but i have to admit to some disappointment. Plusses: really good VR headset, not limited to use with this product informative book for young readers the factual VR/3D videos are reasonably educational Minuses: the headset won't stay closed over my samsung s20 the narration in the videos is BAD. Like, REALLY bad... not much replayability - it's just canned videos, nothing interactive at least one of the videos seems like combined cut scenes from a video game Why?: the cosmic-cube-thingy is just odd the solar system model is not terribly informative, and pretty cheap Missing: any sort of interactivity [except for the cosmic-cube-thingy]. It would have been nice to have had a VR planetarium app to use with the headset. Or something. It would not be hard to add new content occasionally, and I hope that's the plan... ... show more

I ordered this to have when we babysit our neighbor’s boys aged 5&6, and for their age group this is a cool idea. We recently had them over to play with the space headset, and Charlie (the oldest) spent more time with the headset & app than Henry (the youngest). Henry was happy to play with the planet model & use his imagination than to learn about space. The headset took some time to adjust to the their small heads, and never felt like it was as fitted as when my 13 y/o and I tried it out. The app is really the main star of this entire set, and the ability to watch with the headset was more than entertaining enough for the Charlie. The cube never seemed to work consistently, which meant an adult had to step in frequently to troubleshoot. Overall, a good product for all age groups, but adult assistance is definitely required for younger kids. This set did jump start the 6 y/o’s new obsession with space, and planets. When we baby sit the boys now, the headset is the first thing they ask to play with when they get here, so that’s a win. ... show more

Nice gift for kids interested in VR and space. Decent set up for intro into fixed VR - interesting videos, great visuals. Length of videos was a bit short, feel like they could be longer or have more available for better immersion. Would have loved one that was just an extended quiet free float through space without narration, as I can see them revisiting that video repeatedly. Videos are interesting but not sure once seen will be watched again. Also highly recommend option to purchase the Magical Holographic Cubes for the other series (Ocean & Wildlife) separately as I’m interested in the content not another complete headset. ... show more
