I live in an older house with tiny windows. Even in the day, some rooms are too dark and I need to turn on a light, but like a lot of people, turning on a lamp in the middle of the day drives me crazy (it makes it seem like evening all the time!) I didn't realize how big of a deal that was to me until I put these lights up. Any weather or time of day, it's easy to match the light coming through the window, and with the light coming from around the room there's no lamp to draw your eye. Simply put, the window just seems brighter. I bet you could do this with any temperature - changing light strip, but this is the one I bought and I like it. The remote and the adhesive all work fine. One roll is bright enough to light a whole room about as much as a regular floor lamp does in the dark, but you could definitely put up more than one roll at a time. ... show more

I wanted a shorter light strip tape (I don't need 25 feet!) with a remote control to line the inside of a glass cabinet in my living room to show off my small artifacts and also to provide some ambient lighting. I installed this light strip set five months ago and still LOVE it, exactly what I was looking for! I had no problem installing it and working it around tight cabinet corners. The adhesive is still holding up great (I cleaned area with alcohol first) even five months after installation. I like the remote options and being able to adjust the brightness and warm/cool tones as well. In the picture, it's on a low, warm setting. These are great lights. The only downside is you can't use them in a series or attach them to another set. But if the length you want is at or under the length they sell, these are fantastic. They remember settings, so I wired up a reed switch to my closet so the lights come on a the correct setting every time I open the closet door and turn off when closed. The ability to dial in the exact color temperature you want/need is the greatest feature of these lights. Most other unit are either 3000k (too yellow for closets/pantries) or 6000k (too blue - what is this, a hospital?). Having the ability to choose something in between was fantastic.     • Great for accent lighting. Not the best for task lighting.

I installed this LED light strip under a cabinet above a crafting bench. I ran the strips back and forth under the cabinet to increase the light. Even with multiple rows of lights under the cabinet, it did provide a fair amount of light, but not quite enough for me to do detail work. But, it does work great for ambient lighting. Now, if you install them without the back and forth, it should work great for accent lighting. What I liked: 1. The LED light strip was easy to install. The adhesive has held up well so far and I had no issues making the bends to route it around corners. Make sure you carefully bend it at the plastic areas and not at any of the components on the strip. There are plenty of instructions available online if you're not sure how to bend your LED light strip. If you don't like the look of that, you can search for "3 pin LED strip connectors" here on Amazon and there are some sets (starting around $8) that will help you route the strip if aren't planning on running a straight line. 2. The remote seems to work well, with one drawback, in my opinion. The presets at the bottom of the remote have a pre-programmed brightness set. So, if you want to change the brightness, set the color temperature and then turn the brightness up. It seems to remember the previous setting, but using the preset buttons will reset the brightness. 3. I love the adjustable color temperature. The middle setting (with both warm and cool LEDs on) will provide the most brightness (because both LEDs are on). I prefer daylight color if I'm working on something, but something more like a soft white for ambient lighting. If you do need something brighter, consider doubling up the strip OR finding a LED light strip with more LEDs. Since the controller/remote is the most expensive part of the kit, the kit that has double the length is only $7 more (at the time of this review). ... show more
