  • Use for glass glazing on clock
Size: 3/8''×13Ft/4M Style: 1 Roll
My grandfathers clock was losing the glass glazing in the doors. I used the sealant strip to repair with great success. It sticks to the glass panes and the wooden frames.

  • Accidental Purchase but Will be Getting More
Size: 1/8 in x 3/4 in x 30 Ft Style: 1 Roll
I picked this up to use on my son's camper remodel for college. He's invested in an retro 80s 28 foot camper to live in while in school (to save money) which has to be completely gutted and rebuilt. He purchased it with leak issues that seem to be so common on older vintage campers. I thought I was buying weather striping sealing tape that you use on the plastic exterior side cracks and roof leaks. I didn't realize this was actually the weather sealer used for jobs like between door panels and doors on cars to water proof. It wasn't what we were looking for, but found it really versatile and useful. Pros: Decently tacky and sticky with out it being too sticky allowing for repositioning and removal from fingers. Stretches lovely making it versatile for use and utility. Rolls great to form 'beads' of water proofing. Molds rather well, rather like putty, allowing you to form it into holes and corners. Included positioning tool was effective, especially pushing it into crevices and seams. Cons: I found it difficult to get it to stick on rough or slightly soiled areas. Rather a common sense issue, but still factors into jobs where it isn't always easy or time efficient to clean and smooth areas. That being said, our use of this product was unorthodox. Not so much a con, but an issue. Do NOT take off the paper backing until product is firmly in place. This includes use with application tool. It was just too much a chore to attempt positioning with out the paper as it stuck to EVERYTHING. Tools, fingers, where it wasn't suppose to stick. While it can be removed fairly easily it does degrade the degree of adhesive and may also stretch in the process causing it to no longer be useful for your application. I think for most people familiar with this product you probably are already in the 'know', but if your new to butyl tape, just a heads up. No instructions of use where included with this product leaving us a little bewildered on it's use. I ended up going back to the product page to figure out it's purpose and learned about application from trial and error. So my son and I both found this product great and versatile. Again, we used it in other ways than it's intended purpose. We used it to rebuild his RV door after the plastic window frame broke exposing the interior wood to the elements. We ended up having to re-frame the door and used this to help fill some gaps and adhere sheet plastic to the window hole and interior door before relaying the sheet metal/plastic skin. We then framed out the window which we went back over and cocked to further seal. We also used it as a cushion between screw holes on the one remaining plastic window frame we had, as it was brittle and we were worried about running the screws down and flexing the frame which was hollow on the inside. It worked perfect. This was versatile, so much so that my son will be picking up more because "this is useful stuff". I personally loved the ability to roll it into a workable bead to use like cocking and fill cracks. I think using it from the interior of our cracks in the RV might just work as well rather than the exterior tape we had needed. I plan to try it out as a seal along our leaking sky lights and antenna mast as well. At the present cost of $13.99, that's the cost of 1 tube of cock but not nearly as messy! Only time will tell on it's weather proofing ability and how it holds up to rain, cold and heat. ... show more

  • Super sticky!
Size: 3/8''×13Ft/4M Style: 1 Roll
If you are looking to replace a side quarter panel or rear window on an older vehicle, chances are that window has threaded hex nuts holding it in place by threaded studs which are firmly fastened to the glass itself. If thats the case, then you must contend with making a fresh seal around all the fasteners, because the window has no actual rubber seal and isnt adhered with urethane. Thats where this butyl rubber strip comes really handy. All you have to do is stick it there, bolt the replacement window on, and snug it up tight again to the vehicle body. Once this stuff is stuck on, it does not leak and it does not quit! *Avoid letting it get on your clothing or you may throw that garment away once its contaminated. Butyl rubber is REALLY STUBBORN and nearly impossible to remove from fabric. This product is well-known for making a reliable water-proof seal, and to have it on a convenient roll to dispense how I please, is a welcome priviledge. If something is leaking, I can always slap a strip of this in between and halt that water intrusion on the spot. Its excellent for emergency roofing leak patching, various automotive window glass panels, inner car door panel baffle sealant, and many other things. It holds tight and never gives up. And if you can manage to safely part the seal and have to service something behind what you separate, it is easy as can to reseal it again. Just mash it down once more and the butyl seal is right back the way it was; sticky, pliable, and waterproof! ... show more

  • Sticky and just the right size
Size: 1/8 in x 3/4 in x 30 Ft Style: 1 Roll
In building this house I have some custom wrought-iron doors made for the front entry. They are gorgeous, except for one thing. Both of the French doors have opening windows. And the weather stripping on those windows is not only too wide and sticks out the sides of the window (not at all pleasing to the eye) but lose their grip after a while. When it is 8 degrees F outside like it is right now with winds gusting over 50 mph having good weatherstripping is really important. I saw this available and after measuring what would be a more satisfactory width for the window placed the order. This feels like a good-quality product that still is flexible at this temperature. It was easy to cut, easy to place with a good amount of stickiness, and it is doing an excellent job sealing the windows. A great improvement and really good product. ... show more
