Features

  • Smooth and Precise Playability: The rosewood fingerboard paired with 24 frets offers a smooth feel and excellent note articulation. It ensures accurate fingering and fluid movement across the neck, reducing hand fatigue during long sessions and complex solos.
  • Premium Tonewood Construction: The solid mahogany body delivers rich low-end warmth and sustained resonance, while the roasted maple neck provides exceptional stability and a bright, singing sustain. This time-tested combination builds the foundation for a powerful, classic electric guitar tone that stands the test of time.
  • Versatile Sound System: Features an HH pickup set for powerful humbucking tones. The neck position houses a rail-style humbucker, ensuring even string response and clarity across all registers. Pull the tone knob to split the bridge humbucker into a bright single-coil voice.
  • Tuning and Tremolo Performance: The 18:1 tuning machines and a reliable double-locking tremolo bridge work in concert to provide pinpoint tuning accuracy and remarkable stability. Execute aggressive dive bombs and expressive vibratos with confidence, knowing your guitar will return to perfect pitch every time.
  • Timeless Modern Aesthetics: Featuring a meticulously crafted, classic contoured body with sleek, modern lines. The clean layout of metal hardware complements the natural wood grain, resulting in an understated yet professional aesthetic that commands attention on any stage.
  • Pro-Grade Specifications: Built to professional standards with a 648mm (25.5") scale length and a 42mm nut width for precise intonation and comfortable string spacing. The neck profile is meticulously designed (20.5mm at 1st fret, 22.5mm at 12th fret), and it comes strung with 09-42 gauge strings.

  • A killer 24 fret, double locking trem equipped guitar. A killer 24 fret, double locking trem equipped guitar.
I have long seen Leo Jaymz guitars and had been intrigued by them. I first started seeing them around or just before the Covid Pandemic. Many, including the LP guitars looked great but I figured they couldn't possibly be as good in quality and play as they look. I remember seeing the ones finished with an American flag finish or lightning and thinking they looked a little tacky for my taste but there were aa few, including the traditional single cut LP style that really had me interested. Flash-forward to 2024 and I am seeing some amazing models being given rave reviews by guys I respect, like Sean at Scarred Guitars. Around this time my son expressed he wanted a new guitar. He wanted a Shecter Synyster Gates model and would always show me the Temu models when I told them they were outside our budget and his skill level. I began looking for a suitable guitar. Something with 24 frets. Something that had good playability. Something that had a good, stable trem system, even if it wasn't double locking. Something g that would look great and be suitable for metal. I started seeing g a number of Leo Jaymz models that fit the bill. Then I seen the Tsunami. It ticked all the boxes. The metalix finished Tsunami's looked great, but the Deluxe models really looked crazy. Either would have been fine, but the latter did cost a bit more. After showing him this guitar and hearing sound samples from our favorite guitar YouTubers, he became set on getting one. Over the last few months these guitars have been selling out. From what I have learned from the Bald Shredder, there is no guarantee that they will be restocked. While the model may continue, it may not be the exact model currently produced. I have watched all the finishes with the exception of the Red & Black Deluxe and Purple & Red Deluxe sell out. At the time of purchese, there were only 15 of the Red and Black finished ones left. Despite his birthday not being until mid-August, I got it for him to ensure that he got the guitar he wanted. It did not disappoint. The box showr some signs of a rough trip, but the guitar arrived in one piece and nothing was broke, though the finish was cracked on either side of the neck at the joint pocket. That isn't a big deal. It is very small and a common occurrence with bolt-on neck guitars bought online and being shipped from over seas. The guitar came equipped with strap locks, and all the required hex keys to adjust the hardware and neck. The strings were slack and required tuning. The action was fine, but I did lower it some and may lower it a tad more. It appears to be strung with 9-46 gaged strings. I prefer this gaging for LP style guitars, but I will likely switch it to 9-42 after her settles into the guitar some. The Trem system is lile an original Floyd Rose, but unbranded. It looks nice and feels nice and works great. There was an issue where rhe A String wasnt very secure and came out and required being put back in. This happened twice but once I got it in good and locked the String in, it has survived extreme whammy use. A cookie of the fune tuners are a tad stiff mid way thru, but that xan be adjusted if they don't work their way thru it with use. I intend on properly lubricating all the moving parts when we do a full string change and setup. The frets are in great shape. No sharp points at all. They are not ball ended frets, but are fantastic. There did not seem to be any uneven frets and all seemed seated well. They were also pretty smooth and seemed polished well although I did take a buffer block over them just to ensure they were good. They are stainless steel jumbo sizd frets. No issues with the inlay or patchy looking fingerboard. Any pits have been filled in. I conditioned the fingerboard with mineral oil and it looks and feels great. The roasted maple neck feels great. I would like to have seen it be little thinner. I have an Aklot Veltrix and a Vintage V-100AFD that have thinner necks, but it is still good. Thinner than his Austin beginner guitar and similar to an early 90s Ibanez RG I have. Tuners seem fine. Wouldbhave been great to have locking tuners but these are great. No neckdive issues. The strap locks are round and encompasses the entire strap peg, unlike standard Dunlop style strap locks. This us great because it's locked in no matter what position your guitar is in. The whammy feels good and stable. It requires intent to bend, but doesn't fight you. Returns to pitch indicating they pivot posts and knife edge is good quality. The rear control plate and trem cavity plate are made of metal. Feels very premium and well done. The pickups sound great. Clean or driven. I really like the middle position clean. And the lead pickup has a really buttery attack yhat I associate with a high quality neck pickup and sounds very full. It rips when distorted. It can be coil spit and it sounds great. Filler than the coil split on my Aklot Veltrix. The volume and tone knobs have a great feel and great taper. The guitar all around feels great and has a great balance. I couldn't be happier. Great response and sustain and very playable. The neck is straight and centered perfectly. The recessed neck joint makes upper fret play a breeze. The finish is perfectly done and the pattern on top looks amazing. I love that the truss rod cover slides open Ibanez style. I have having to unscrew them. The only minor issues, and I am nitpicking here, is the small cracks in the clear coat finish at the neck pocket I previous mentions. There is also a slight sliver of space between the neck and the side of the pocket, but it doesn't not seem to affect amy sustain. The neck pickup is a hot rail pickup but the magnet closes to the neck is not flush as I have seen with other hot rail pickups. I don't know if it is intentional or a manufacturing issue, but is dies not affect tone or playability. Just something I noticed. All this considered, including the stiffness of a few of the fine controls and the lock on the A string being a bit fickle aside, this guitar is amazing. I have played much lore expensive Shecter, Gibson, Fender, Ibanez and ESP guitars and this is easily what an experienced guitarist unfamiliar with Leo Jaymz would assume is an $800 guitar, and likely would not shy away from purchasing at that price. For $260, this is a steal. It boggles my mind how they could make this, with a double locking trem and sell it at this price. I would not have been able to secure a double locking trem guitar for anything under $500 new when I was starting to play and aquire guitars. The guitar isn't just great for the price. It is just great and I highly, highly recommend not just the Tsunami but any Leo Jaymz guitar to anyone, beginners or experienced alike. Absolutely win. Get them before their gone. ... show more

  • Leo Jaymz Tsunami Deluxe Mahogany Body & Roasted Maple Neck, HH Pickups
Color: Violet
I was very surprised and impressed with this guitar. The intonation was even setup on it. I honestly can't think of anything I would change. Even the pickups sounded great. Back metal plate on the electrics and metal plate on the claw and bridge springs. Nice touch. No fret rock anywhere and neck was straight. Well worth 250 dollars. I have about 70 guitars an I would put this up against some of my thousand dollar guitars. Great work!!! ... show more

  • Buy it! Punches way above its price range Buy it! Punches way above its price range
Ok to start if any of you have heard about these, yes, the 15th fret marker is wrong. Big deal. I have a huge collection from PRS to American Fenders to Jackson custom shops. Also a luthier/guitar tech and I’m beyond impressed. This arrived today still in tune with minor adjustment. I adjusted the truss rod a little bit but that’s personal preference. Also the truss rod cover is super convenient and you don’t need a screwdriver to get to the truss rod. Frets are not rounded but all level and polished. The roasted maple neck is smooth and playability is phenomenal. Pickups are hot and will not need to be swapped out, just a little bassy on the neck but EQ fixed that. This finish speaks for itself, just stunning . I beat on the Floyd rose for a good hour and tuning stability is spot on. The tuners themselves are also surprisingly good. All in all I can’t believe this was only 250$. Easily joins the ranks of one of my favorite guitars. Buy it. ... show more

  • Pickup issues
Color: Violet
Bridge humbucker let's out a screaming every now and then. The microphonics make it not usable for me. Also the color pictured is not what I got, had to be the ugliest guitars I have owned, purple with mud color. The bridge does not have a way to intonation, you have to loosen à screw and nudge the string blick. No real microadjustment. Other then that I liked the guitar shape and playability, the design and craftsmanship is nice. It's not set up so you will have to adjust action and trust rod. But for just over $200 I could live with doing this. Along with the squeal I really dont like the buzzy tone you get from the pickups, I would swap them out but now you have a $500 guitar. ... show more

  • Good Guitar
Color: Violet
This guitar is very nice for this price. I would surprised if you could find better quality at twice the price. It needed very little adjustment after shipping. I own several more expensive name brand guitars that did not have the attention to detail of this Leo Jaymz.

  • No stainless ball end frets. 17th fret inlay is incorrect.
Color: Violet
The 17th fret inlay is incorrect. This does not have stainless steel ball end frets. The tremolo works fine, but the locking nut is cheap and I’m afraid to over tighten and strip out the bolts. I’m afraid this is getting too close to “real“ guitar money.

  • Killer axe
Color: Violet
This is a bad-ass guitar. The frets were dressed absolutely perfect - not one sharp edge. The trem is great no matter how aggressive I get it stays in tune. The fine tuners are a little wonky but work. The pups are hot but a little thin. The neck is amazing & so is the finish. All in all for the money this is a killer axe. Ive been playing for over 54 years and I highly recommend ... show more
