  • Extremely good neck and feel, could use better pickups
Color: Blue Ocean
Very good overall for the money. Excellent feeling neck with perfect frets, factory setup with super low action with no buzzing. Very very impressive in that regard. I have not played a guitar that feels this good anywhere near this price range. Other guitars I've had in this price range have had rough frets, but with the rounded fret ends on this there is no risk of that. Unlike the picture my neck and fretboard are the same color (both roasted maple). Quitling on the top is not as impressive as the picture. Unfortunately like the other review says, the pickups are microphonic.. Just using it on my computer with guitar rig at medium volumes I get feedback on the high gain amps. I'm not really into those though so I will probably keep the pickups for now. At lower gains it sounds fine. Hardware is fine. Build quality is good. Looks nice. Definitely worth getting especially if you're going to change the pickups. Still giving 5 stars because the neck is just so good it outweighs the negative of the pickups. ... show more

  • Wrong headstock...
Color: Sunburst
No real issues other than the standard ones pertaining to those of a guitar at this price range. It's a great guitar for a young student whom will be the recipient. The headstock is different, partially black and roasted maple not what is advertised. It's not even the same shape. In my case,it's a gift, but if I was going to keep it for myself, I would be returning this purchase.. Tuned up and plays decent. ... show more

  • WOW!
Color: Sunburst
This is a beautiful instrument at an incredible price. I lowered the saddle screws and the neck was straight and didn't need adjustment. I did a simple set up and WOW! This guitar plays like a dream and the top is stunning. The roasted maple neck is smooth and the frets are polished nicely. The pickups are hot and this thing rocks like a $1500 guitar. Just buy it! ... show more

  • She’s a Pretty Blue, But Just Doesn't Sound Right
Color: Blue Ocean
After a week of playing this blue Popcaster it’s time to send it back to Amazon. I think I received a defective Popcaster. Three respected Youtubers recommended the Leo Jaymz Popcaster for both quality and sound. That’s why I bought it. It’s beautiful, blue, and gorgeous. But when I plugged it into my Peavey, Fender, and Roland amps it didn’t sound right. I put on my hearing aids. It had too much hummm on switches 1 and 3. Not even my cheap, used Glarry Semi-Hollow, hummed that much on switches 1 and 3. I took it to my guitar guy (ex-roadie guitar tech) to check it out. He absolutely adored its fit and finish, he loved the neck. He said, “It’s amazing they can build this, ship it, and still make a profit.” He played it on a cheap speaker in his garage setting. “Hello, hello?” I can hear myself. The pickups are microphonic. Wax potting would fix that (I don’t know how to wax pot an electric.) One more day I turned on my Fender LT25 Amp, put it on the Fender Clean 01 setting, and tested the Popcaster and all of my electrics. I played the same riff on each guitar, same volume, and all switches. All of my electrics ranging from a 1980’s Harmony HT-80 strat to a Jet JT300 tele played better and with more diverse/pleasing sounds than the Popcaster. The Popmaster “hum” was the worst of all my guitars. And all of a sudden, my open G string on the Popcaster is rattling. I could probably fix it on the bridge with a tiny screwdriver but I would rather not. Sadly, I don’t enjoy playing or using it. Beautiful looks aren’t everything. Sound matters more than anything. But I think I got a slightly defective Popcaster. I may try Leo Jaymz again as I consider purchasing their Hurricane guitar. So I am being neutral and rating the Popmaster as a “3”. I hope my review was helpful to you. I don’t want to insult the talented Youtubers who praised the Popcaster as a good beginner tele. Neither do I want to insult the Leo Jaymz company for its beautiful blue Popcaster. Perhaps I just got a slightly defective Leo Jaymz Popcaster. But I am returning it to Amazon. ... show more

  • Awesome inexpensive modern Tele style guitar
Color: Purple Ocean
Simply blown away for the price! First chinese neck that I haven't had to do any work on :) Best $150 and under Tele out there... period. Pickups are hot and great for any style of rock. Lower the pickups a bit for a great blues machine. Tuners while a bit gritty hold and tune well. Nut was cut well. Finish is an eye catcher with that clear pickguard. Color is more violet and maroon than pink as in some of the pics. It's a keeper! :) ... show more

  • Pretty good for the price. But plan on fixing some issues.
Color: Black Flame
For the price it's hard to beat. There are a lot of good elements to this T-style guitar: - Roasted maple neck - quite thin - Stainless steel rounded end frets - Locking tuners - Alnico V pickups (instead of cheapo ceramics like in most electrics in this price range) - Contoured body - Nice looking fit and finish, - Thick & clear acrylic pickguard However, here are the negatives: - The bridge saddles came set way too high - Truss rod tension was off - making the action even higher - Nut slots were cut too high - The neck shoulders are hard - not smoothed out - There's no shielding in the pickup and control cavities, so the single coil pups are noisier than they have to be - I'm surprised it didn't get damaged in shipping. It was a flimsy little box. But for the price, I think it's pretty deserving of four stars. I can fix all of those negative issues. I have the tools and the experience. However, for a beginner, plan on taking this T-Style to a guitar repairman and spend some money to get it playing better. Otherwise you will struggle with it. ... show more

  • Great guitar!
Color: Blue Ocean
It's hard to comprehend how this guitar can be of such high quality for the price. Looks, plays and sounds amazing. I have many very expensive guitars and this one should feel cheap in comparison, but it doesn't. It's amazing! My only complaint is that one of the tuners feels a little loose, but I could buy a whole new set and still be way ahead. ... show more
