This is an awesome little guitar. I have no idea how they can afford to sell these at the current price point. Shipped by Amazon. I just tuned it when it came and checked out whether the action looked all right. It was. It sounded great right out of the box. Buy this and you will not be disappointed. It is certainly a great value. I suspect they’re selling them pretty much at cost. The neck is excellent. All the frets are level and in-line. This is the third guitar bought from this manufacturer. I also bought two telecaster clone Popcasters. Green for me and purple for my 23yo son, the nascent rockstar. I paid less than 200 for each of them. I also purchased an amazing 4-string bass w 2 high-output humbuckers at about the same price point. The electronics are super basic, but the pick ups are sensitive enough to pick everything up. I think their tone is similar to a Bartolini bass pick up. This is on a stock bass for under $200. Same positive experience for each of those other guitars. Delivered by Amazon in a well designed guitar-shaped cardboard shipping box. Leo Jaymz is shipping great products with amazing quality control. I suspect these products are priced well below market in order to get an increased market share. ... show more

    • Good guitar, just needs upgrades
Color: Green
Bought this guitar at the 169 price point. The tuners were junk and had to replace them and the pick ups, at least the bridge pick up could not be contained from feedbacking even with my zuul gate on over half. But really for the price and how nice the neck plays and how good the body looks. A pick up swap will have this thing ready for normal play. So, I recommend it but just know you might need to change stuff. ... show more

My 8th Leo Jaymz! For $150 you get a perfectly cut guitar. Yes, the pickups are microphonic and lack tone. I swapped them out for a set of Jaymz pickups out of a Monsoon. I don't understand why Jaymz didn't use these zebra pickups in the Popcaster - they sound great and are wax potted. I also added pickups rings for height options and a better look. Direct mount pickups are a cheaper factory option. The tone control does have a surprisingly very smooth full taper. The factory strings (.09s) are not that good (expected). I added shielding paint to make the guitar super quiet. Inlays stickers from Amazon. I love the top! The guitar has some heft. Clearly, they only do the minimum in these builds, but with CNC machines, everything is perfect including great playing necks. This neck has hardly any finish, so I recommend some conditioner -again, a cost issue. I wished they would have put the 3-way switch and volume control a bit farther apart. So far, it hasn't been an issue. Some reviewers complain about the tuners -the tuners need to upgraded. A nice project guitar and it's great to do a parts build like this for around $150! ... show more

    • Very good guitar for the money.
Color: Blue
It's a beautiful guitar. Flawless finish. The neck came perfectly straight, and the fretwork is great. I did have to raise the bridge saddles on the 6th and 5th strings to eliminate fret buzz. I had to slightly adjust a couple of strings for intonation. The pickups sound good, especially for the price. I will be replacing the tuner keys later, but it stays in tune fairly well. ... show more

Absolutely blown away with this guitar. Don’t hesitate to buy it. Yes the pickups and electronics are sub par but it sets up easy and sounds great with stock equipment.

Great budget guitar! Plays and sounds great. The pickups squeal with high gain, but they sound really good clean or with medium gain. I replaced the tuners with locking tuners, but the stock tuners did stay in tune. The frets are very nicely done and were perfect out of the box. The stabilized burl top is well done and the fit and finish on this guitar punches way above its price point. ... show more

    • Passable
Color: Green
Needed some work. Frets were nicely polished. Did not come with a gig bag as described. Pickups are super microphonic and needed to be replaced

    • Decent budget guitar
Color: Red
Decent guitar for the price. However, the face is nowhere near as detailed as the picture. I know they are all different, but my red one looks like a black mushroom. The red resin is not as vibrant as the pictures would lead you to believe as well.
