This is a great playing guitar. Basswood body makes it quite light yet it the sound still is full and clear. The 24 frets with rounded ball-end frets and fretboard/roasted maple neck are smooth and comfortable. No buzzing or dead notes whatsoever which is a pleasant surprise since most of my budget guitars have high frets which cause string buzz which I then have to level which is tedious and a pain in the ass. This guitar is perfect for a beginner with a thinner neck and quite a lightweight body. The stock ceramic pickups sound good. I swapped in a set of Dragonfire pickups I took out of a guitar I’m selling. The stock pickups work I just wanted to try out the other pickups. I blacked out the hardware as a personal preference- I didn’t have to really do anything to the guitar except tune it up. Everything worked well on the guitar. It was set-up perfectly out of the box. I added a tone push/pull pot and coil-split both pickups. The guitar looks amazing and could’ve easily cost more than the $150 price. The chrome stock machine heads are 1:18 ratio so I kept for another project guitar. I have about 15 Leo Jaymz guitars- no way connected to the brand- just a collector that loves quality budget guitars. Leo Jaymz has been releasing some fantastic new models of late. It’s hard to believe that they can make a playable guitar this cheap. Don’t get me wrong…it has the expected cheap strings and the guitar is VERY light (which leads me to believe the body is basswood) and the cheap electronics. This is to be expected at this price point. Here is where is punches above its weight. Still has ball end frets (nickel) Tuners are smooth and stable so far. Looks to have a bone nut Pickups actually sound good! Neck is thin and feels great Body shape and pickup configuration 🔥 Top looks to be veneer (not printed) The only issues I have had is the frets are rough and need a polishing. The other thing is the body isn’t a string though. I would have liked to see this option but heck man. All in all this guitar is great and at the least it’s a smoking hot mod platform. ... show more
