I absolutely love it. The elegant design detail, the thickness of the plates and the depth of the soup bowls, were perfect. Certain comments mentioned it's the size of a fruit bowl. I beg to differ - it's the size of a soup bowl just in a depth cup shape which is in style and elegant now. I'm so thankful and impressed how the company AND Amazon assured to wrap it with boxes and bumble wrap to make sure every piece came as if you bought it directly from the store. It's a miracle that this order was not damaged! The 4 box place settings of Lenox dishes arrived in a HUGE box with no packing material to secure them...the room in the box allowed for the FRAGILE dishes to be tossed all over....only due to the sturdy Lenox packaging of each place setting did they arrive without breaking ... show more

I ordered 2 of these plus some individual place settings. The title is incorrect, but there is a byline that lists what you do get. In this case it is a 12 pc service for 4, with 4 large plates, 4 side plates and 4 bowls. I also ordered some place settings so I could get a few mugs to complete my service. In both cases, my orders arrived promptly (prime) and extremely well packaged. I checked all pieces before placing them in the dishwasher. I love the look of this stoneware set and have enjoyed using the pieces for two weeks. The plates are deeper than the plates I replaced, but they still fit in my dishwasher. No scratches so far. 5/22 Update: About 6+ years later I’ve had so many pieces break it makes me so sad. Lenox never even responded to my inquiry when one of the dinner plates broke clear in half. Never again. I have had at least 3 plates break like that. I decided to buy Corningware which actually never gets scratched. The only way I’d recommend this set is if you got one of the darker colors that they offer now. It is definitely not an every day China like it’s advertised and I especially don’t recommend if you have a little kids. **************** I've had 8 sets of this china and it has been continuously used for the last 3 months. We had a few minor marks from mostly my fiance cutting his food, but I used Barkeeper's Friend to get them out. I also heard Wright's Copper Cleaner works best to keep them nice and white or cream whatever. I love the simple elegance of the pattern. I can spice it up with different colors from Lenox's other sets in the French Perle collection or even the French Perle Groove collection. I am very pleased with them. I have not really microwaved them that much, but I have continuously cleaned them in the dishwasher and they're holding up great. I was really apprehensive about the bad reviews, but I think those people must chop the crap out of their food because it has not really been an issue for us, besides what I've already mentioned. We also recently replaced our old silverware to higher quality stuff so maybe that also has something to do with the ability to leave scratches. I also just purchased additional pieces to go with the set including smaller plates & bowls. Can't wait to have company so I can have a beautifully set table. I decided to update with side by side pics. The small bowl is NOT Lenox it's a BH&G product purchased from Walmart & used extensively for the last 5 years, before I was able to replace with items received off my wedding registry. I think I only had 4 settings for that set so they were used constantly. They are both stoneware though, just wanted to show how scratched my old stuff was & how the Lenox products are a lot nicer. ... show more

    • A Perfect Blend, but BAD

My husband and I just purchased place settings with pasta bowls of both the French Perle White and the French Perle Bead patterns. They arrived amazingly quickly and in perfect condition. The quality is simply superb. My husband wanted white, as he is the chef of the family and cares about displaying his art on a white canvas. I care about uniqueness and color. Our values competed with each other's, until we found two Lenox French Perle Collections in the three different patterns. They are elegant but quite interesting, especially when combined. Initially, we thought of buying the highly rated Mikasa Antique White; however, once we saw them in the store, they appeared uninteresting and the stark white color reminded us of Corelle. We then noticed a table display of the French Perle, which included a blend of the White pattern, the Bead pattern, and the new colorful French Perle Everything, all of which are different yet blend perfectly together, depending on your mood and the occasion. One can easily set a table, alternating the White and the Bead in every other place setting and, for additional interest, we mix the patterns within a single place setting. For example, the combination of the Bead plate, the White salad plate and the Bead pasta bowl is wonderful. Now, with the recent addition of the Everything pattern, the combinations are endless. The Everything pattern is more casual and is available in 8 colors; it can add a great splash of color and fun to the table. We've chosen 2 colors, alternating the salad plate colors. Committing to a pattern is often a long-term investment because of the cost and hassle. We looked for a long time and are thrilled with our decision because of getting high quality dishes that can be both formal and casual, with an amazing number of options, and a wide variety of serving dishes and accessories. We look forward to adding more over the next couple of years. UPDATE: One year later it grieves me to lower my rating from 5 Stars to 1 Star...in fact, we just returned ALL our dishes, which included 10 place settings. The dishes, and particularly the plates, were getting dark scratches. It was getting progressively worse and we were tired of having to use Bar Keepers Friend to fix the problems. I talked with a couple of Sales Associates at Macy's and they said they have started to see the problem and theorized that it was due to a factory change or a "bad batch" by Lenox. This perhaps might be true since Lenox has not responded to any of my multiple inquiries. When we have inquired about a color or pattern option, they respond within 24 hours, however, when we asked about this problem....NOTHING. I think they know. Buy at your own risk. Another UPDATE: Three hours after submitting the update above update, I got a call from Lenox responding to my initial inquiry I wrote 2 months ago....just a coincidence....I'm sure it is. Kelly, the customer service person said she would talk to her supervisor and get back to me. That was two weeks ago. NOTHING. ... show more
