The drawings of flowers and butterflies are really high quality and well designed. These dinnerwares are perfect for guests, and they fit well with any kind of food such as salad, cereal, or pasta. Also, since they are made of some kind of plastic material, they are perfect for young children. Bought this set for my mother for Christmas. She has the 18 piece dinnerware set as well as the tea set so it was a perfect gift to add to her collection. The Pasta/salad set is beautiful. They are a great size for a nice hearty serving. They are very nice quality and even though they are on the thinner side, they seem very durable. The butterfly meadow collection is truly gorgeous and I plan to add more pieces to her collection this year. I love these dishes! They are not only pretty, but useful for every day. The large bowl is great as a serving bowl for just about anything and the smaller bowls are perfect for individual soup, salad or pasta servings. They are also useful as vegetable serving bowls. I am so glad that I ordered this set. I ordered the 18 piece dinnerware set first, so these 2 sets go perfectly together. Both are great buys! The only thing that disappointed me was that one of the small bowls came broken and that Amazon did not offer to replace the bowl. I did get money credited to my account, but now I am still short one bowl from the set. ... show more

I first discovered and fell in love with this pattern when I saw/loved/purchased the porcelain rice bowls at my local retailer. For me, they’re perfect for an average youth/adult breakfast cereal/milk or noodles, soup or whatever else. They’re sturdy, light and thin, but not too light nor too thin, and they’re deep. I love these so much that I’m in the process of replacing my large collection of white Correlle (which I’ve collected for almost 30 years) AND my 12 serving full set of China with this pattern. I’m serious, the salad bowl set arrived yesterday and I could not be happier, and the full dinnerware set is arriving Saturday... aaand I’m expecting the other bowls I ordered to arrive in the next few days. I no longer need my China dishes to feel “special”! :D I admit that I’m a snob when it comes to my dishware... I don’t like the feel or texture of plastic in my kitchenware, so after noticing some comments said the pattern also came in a hard plastic type material on some items I made sure I was only ordering porcelain. ... show more

    • Great item, poor packaging
Much to my disappoinment the large serving bowl, packaged on top in Lenox's retail box was in a dozen pieces! I couldn't exactly tell if it was large enough. I'm thinking that it would never hold enough to serve 6 of the bowls of pasta. However, it was certainly appropriate for taking the second helpings to the table after everyone was served hot off the stove. The serving bowl could be used for many other things. The bowls are pretty and will double greatly for large salad bowls or other one dish foods with the main dish served over noodles/rice etc like Beef Stronganoff or Shrimp Creole. My beef is how Lenox's retail box was only suitable for retail, store front use - not shipping. That box, not tightly secured in a larger box without a 'fragile' label resulted in the frustration and additional cost to all to return the item for the serving bowl arriving broken. This is not the first time the packing dept was lax in preparing a delicate item for shipping. Therefore, I deducted one star. As an accompanyment to my other Butterfly Meadows, great. In fact, these pieces could stand alone as a set if you're serving a one dish meal. And, since the individual price for these bowls usually runs around $12, buying the set is the way to go. Amazon had the lowest price, shortly followed by Overstock.com with a similar price a few days later. I highly recommend becoming a Prime Member at Amazon. I shop on-line quite a bit so paying once for shipping and then selecting from the thousands of items that qualify, I pay no more for shipping and can get two day delivery. Love it. That alone has made me an Amazon shopper. Think of it, for a flat fee, no shipping, no driving, no having to hit the stores with everyone else, and if I wait too long to buy a gift, 2-day delivery. Thanks Amazon. (Plus I rely heavily on the reviews for my comparison shopping. People tell it like it is.) ... show more
