  • I Love This Phone
Color: Gray Style: Phab 2 Pro
I would give this phone 6 stars if It was possible. I first had the cheaper Phab 2 phone and while I liked it a lot it was glitchy and the screen wasn't as good. Every once in a while the sim card would not be recognized so I had to return the phone. I also had problems with Bluetooth and the phone connecting but the person on the other end not being able to hear me. The Pro had an entirely different motherboard and screen so I have not experienced any glitches. I have been using streaming audio, hands free in the car, etc. and it all works flawlessly. This phone takes a nano sim card unlike the lower end model so I had to run up to the T-mobile store and buy one. The screen is very easy to read with vibrant colors. I guess the screen could be a tad brighter but it is plenty bright for me. The Phab 2 Pro is very snappy with no lag at all. The sound and call reception is excellent. It has Dolby Atmos built in and I played the demo over my car's stereo which sounded amazing. The sound envelops the listener and the bass is clear, punchy and tight. I have a high end system so it sounded wonderful. You can use this for all your sounds too. Then there is Tango which is an interesting concept. I'm still playing with it. I would not buy the phone for this feature but it's fun to play with. There is an app that lets you take a pic of the side of your house or a wall and it will measure the distance within a 1/2". This would be a spectacular feature for many contractors. You can also take a pic of your room and then place in furniture that can be bought from Wayfair. Very cool tech. I use to buy Samsung phones and they are great phone too. I'm coming off a Samsung Note 3. This phone is just better is every area as it should be since it's newer technology. My friend paid 700 for an S8 and this phone is its equal but with a larger screen. Battery life is amazing so far. Marshmallow 6.0 has a feature called Doze that turns off all your power draining apps when your phone sits idle. I downloaded Greenfly to help enable this feature. Marshmallow also has lots of cool little features that make using the phone nice. Watching moves and surfing the web is amazing on the 6.4" screen. . While this device is large it easily fits into my pocket. The camera works well and takes nice clear crisp photos. I'm not hanging any phone pics on my wall anyway. I have a Nikon SLR when I want to do real photography. As you can tell I love this phone. I would buy it again in a second. The screen, performance, battery life, etc. make it a fun phone to have and to use on a daily basis. My old eyes appreciate the added real estate. ... show more

Color: Gray Style: Phab 2 Pro
Phone works generally fine, the reason to give 3 stars for (a) the phone shuts off by itself twice and this can be an issue for using it as alarm; b) I suspected the phone received was an open box item. The package was received by my father and when I got home the seal was not intact and I though my father open it. Recently he told me that he didn't open it. ... show more

  • Too fragile, bad camera
Pros: big phone that is great for Streaming and Reading. Cons: uncomfortable in the hand. Camera is garbage, video is worse. Deal Breaker: This big phone is extremely fragile. Mine took a short drop while I was sitting in a chair and the screen shattered. I had it in a case, but it didn't help. There aren't really spare parts for it, so the phone is a total loss for me. I had it less than 3 months. ... show more

  • Biggest Display on Phone in US
Color: Gray Style: Phab 2 Pro
Huge screen, huge battery: love it I wanted a huge screen and battery. Love this phone which I've had for a few weeks. Battery lasts for days. Battery lasts so long I suspect Android must have been vastly improved over last few years to better conserve battery. I put my email on Push and it doesn't seem to drain battery at all. I can read the screen better. But screen still isn't HUGE because it isn't that wide. Big screen won't look huge after a few days. Besides, it is much smaller than a tablet which tend to be much wider even if diagonal isn't much different. Seems fast enough. Camera stinks and doesn't focus. I don't take many pictures and I saw this was a problem in reviews before I bought. That is one sad sacrifice I choose to make. So weird. Why couldn't they make the camera better? Does silly Tango require a bad camera?. I upgraded from a big phone from 4 years ago. Amazing that Phab battery lasts so long and charges so quickly. But phone holds the charge so long, I'm wondering if I didn't need a big battery or fast charge after all. Still amazing how fast this phone charges. Charger says can accept up to 24 watts compared to old 10 watts. But I thought quickcharge only allows 18 watts max? Maybe this is a different charging technology? Maybe I just needed newer Android to get massively better battery life? I used scissors to cut my old MicroSim card down to Nano size. Worked! Android is still annoying as it took me a couple days to get phone set up. Had to format my old SD card to move it to Android Marshmallow, so I had to move 30 GB of data to a computer then back to the SD Card. That took hours. Still can't get the music tagged properly. And Yahoo calendar stinks because I need so special ICAL calendar to sync. Still hard to set up work email, too. Tango - useless just like I suspected. Phone is heavy and thick, but I bought the phone for the screen size and battery. Happy! But I wish the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra were available in the US. It has a bigger 6.8" display and is lighter and thinner. Updating my comment after a few weeks of use. The battery lasts maybe 2+ days if screen isn't used. But I can run down the battery a lot if I use the screen for a few hours. I surprised the battery doesn't last longer. It is a big battery with a big screen with lower than normal resolution. I thought the battery would last 2 days even if I use the screen a bunch. Battery runs down quickly when using the screen (I play a simple game and also listen to a podcast). Maybe runs down 50% in 3 hours of use. Battery charges up VERY quickly. It charges 1% per minute. Capacitive keys are causing a problem when I play a game. I seem to press the buttons by mistake. Volume seems to increase/decrease/increase/decrease for some unknown reason. Speaker is very tinny. I read someone else use this word. I didn't understand until I heard it. ... show more

  • Returned
Color: Gray Style: Phab 2 Pro
I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of this phone. The 652 chipset is pretty snappy and the tango apps rendered effortlessly. The display is nice and clean with decent viewing angles and good outdoor performance. The camera, on the other hand is probably the worst I've encountered. Terrible low light performance and only slightly better with good light. Disappointing camera performance overall. Audio performance was very good... The Atmos processing was worth every penny. Unfortunately, there is a serious software glitch that causes the audio/video synch issues that make streaming video unwatchable. This appears to be a common problem with no solution yet. Im returning the phone because of this fault. Lenovo dropped the ball here but time and there is virtually no support for this phone. ... show more
