Recently at work I switched from a single monitor setup to a double monitor setup and in doing so realized how much I loved it. At home I don't use a desktop, I use a laptop, so I wasn't sure what the options really were. I ended up originally with a cheaper second monitor, one that needed several cords to work, and while it functioned it was a bit clunky, and it always bothered me that I could never get the angle of the second monitor to line up with my laptop, because it couldn't be completely perpendicular when it needed a separate support to hold it up. Then my husband's bratty cat (affectionate) decided to jump up on my little table thing and knock over that monitor, breaking half the display. I was very annoyed at the time, but that did ultimately lead to me purchasing this monitor, so maybe that was his secret evil plan along. This monitor is awesome. I love that it's a single cord plug in (make sure your USB C is Thunderbolt or display capable, there are different versions!), I love that it perfectly lines up with my laptop in both look and size, and I love the base of it, so that I can actually have it at the angle I want it. It also feels a lot sturdier than my other one and is much more difficult to knock over. (The cat has already tried and failed.) One thing to note: I think given that it runs off your laptop, it's best not to leave it plugged in while your laptop is sleeping. I struggled for a bit with my monitor not coming on (keyboard would light up, but just a black screen) and having to restart repeatedly, until I started unplugging the monitor when I closed my laptop. Haven't had the issue since. My best guess is something battery related gets crossed. All in all, very pleased with this! My husband 3D-printed me a little stand so it can sit right at the height I want it, too. It's exactly what I was looking for initially and works great! ... show more

As with many who are now in a semi-permanent work at home environment and live in a small apartment, a full home office setup isn't possible. Likewise the space (both workspace and storage) for a full second monitor isn't ideal for me. So, sick of working on the tiny 14" screen of my work laptop, I looked for an alternative. While there are a few portable options available, I decided on this one. One of the prime drivers behind choosing this monitor was that it doesn't need it's own power supply, it draws power from the attached laptop without too much of a hit to overall battery life. I can also plug the laptops power into the monitor to pass through to the laptop at the same time. This means I can use the monitor anywhere with my laptop without the need for external power, or at worst, a single power brick. While the monitor doesn't have the RGB range of some in the market, is not 4k and isn't touch, it is perfect for all my work needs. The image is sharp and clear. Colors are perfectly fine. It's as good as my laptop display, only larger. Video also displays fine on it so if I need to go on a work trip (or holiday) I can easily take this with me and watch something on it or hook it up to play a game (I wouldn't suggest it for those wanting to do serious gaming though). It's super light and comes with a carry pouch. Noting the review where the user reported screen damage, I placed the protective cardboard from the original box in the sleeve and I am now confident I can transport it in my bag with little risk. The only issue I had was when I initially connected it. I have some ugreen USB C cables and when I used those I got no image on the monitor and the computer didn't detect it. Using the included cable fixed that. It's not a fault of the monitor though and I may need to upgrade some of my other cables to ensure they can carry the appropriate bandwidth. Overall I am very happy with this monitor. It is light and portable. It has more than doubled my screen workspace, and at the end of the day it is easy to pack away without needing much storage space. Handy monitor for travel. It even comes with a sleeve to carry it it and a usbc cable. Only limitation is the computer you're connecting. Not all laptops or computers support displays over the USB c plug. I found this out the hard way. If the USB c plug is actually a thunderbolt plug, you should be good to go. If there is no thunderbolt, you may not be able to use this monitor (or any other) through USB c. Also, hdmi does not supply power, so hdmi source to usbc cable will not make this work. I bought this monitor because I need something lightweight that is easy to travel with for work, but has a good quality. So far, I love it!! The quality is crisp and clear, and the monitor is responsive (no lag). I also absolutely LOVE that it has dedicated buttons for things like power and brightness - this makes a huge difference, though you wouldn't necessarily think it would. So far, I absolutely recommend this monitor to anyone who needs a lightweight but great quality monitor for traveling, whether it's being used for work or gaming (I do both). The sleeve it comes with seems nice and thick and very smooth on the inside, although I am planning on buying a tempered glass screen protector, just to be safe. I used this for traveling. No complaints, nice design. Nice felt sleeve for protection. It comes with it's own cable that I found you need to use for proper connection. When my secondary monitor blows up, I'll use this as a replacement instead of buying a big new one.
