    • Terrific Desk!
This is a great desk. It looks just like the images provided by Amazon. It is substantial and sturdy, and very easy to assemble. You just attach the legs with bolts using the allen wrench provided in the hardware pack. The desk is better than much higher priced products I have seen. I especially like the size, stain color and the drawer pull hardware. A few things to consider if you are buying this desk. First, when you unpack the box, before throwing away all the packing materials check carefully for loose small screws. One of my drawer hardware screws was loose in the box and I almost threw it way. It was easy to just screw it back in on the hinge that lets the drawer face drop down for keyboard access. Second, don't force the box of legs out of the drawer when unpacking them or you will probably damaged the drawer slides. Third, the desk top is particle board covered with vaneer. There is solid hardwood trim along the sides and the front edges but along the back edge there is just a strip of vaneer. The desk is pretty heavy so it gets knocked around during shipping and this unprotected vaneer along the back edge can be easily damaged. My desk arrived with a small chunk of the back edge, particle board and top vaneer broken away. I knew this might happen from other reviews and with a little stain it isn't noticable along the back since I have the unit up against a wall. If you are going to have the back exposed I would recommend that you plan for possibly having to repair minor shipping damage. It would be very easy to patch with wood dough or to attach a strip of small hardwood corner trim stained to match along the back edge. With the low price, great look and sturdy functioning of the desk, it would be a small inconvenience. If like me you are putting it up against a wall, just plan to touch up the back with stain or even those furniture scratch repair pens. ... show more

This is a great desk for its price point. It's very solid, lovely to look at and easy to put together. There is ample leg height room for medium to long-legged folks. Though the height of the keyboard drawer is fixed, it too is of a very useable height. My only quibble with the desk itself is with the handle hardware on the drawer that flops down with the front lowered when using a keyboard. Other than that there is nothing here not to recommend this desk. However.... the delivery (or lack thereof) and replacement and replacement and damage to original delivery made for a lengthy saga with a semi-happy ending. The short version: UPS miss-delivered and didn't retrieve the desk when told of their mistake. Amazon shipped a replacement, but instead shipped a Leick Corner TV Cart which had to be returned. And a second replacement ordered from a 3rd party Amazon vendor was shipped before I could cancel when the very first order was schlepped over to me by a neighbor from a block away when UPS didn't acknowledge her calls. In the end, the customer service both at Amazon and the 3rd party vendor, CYMAX, were fantastic, I met a great new neighbor, and I have this great desk. What makes this a semi-happy ending is that the desk did suffer some damage in shipping (Amazon did adjust the price because of it) and one of the drawer hinges is broken. It seems from reading other reviews here that that does happen from time to time and I was able to source a replacement hinge on the internet. (UPDATE November 5 2017: The replacement hinge sourced on the internet did not fit. I will contact the manufacturer for a second time to see if they can provide a replacement) (UPDATE November 13 2017: There is a fully happy ending to this saga. Leick sent me a replacement hinge that works perfectly. Also, Old English Scratch Cover was helpful repairing the desk's appearance. I used the "light wood" version and will also try the dark wood version to see if that covers a bit better. Unless something untoward occurs with this desk this will be my last update. I will make some suggestions to the manufacturer on how to improve the packing to prevent this kind of damage from happening, but I stand by my recommendation of this desk) BOTTOM LINE (Finally): I do recommend this desk. ... show more

    • Perfect size & great quality
Needed a small-ish desk for my kitchen area. This one is just right. Not too big & not too small. Fits my monitor, Mac mini, keyboard & still plenty of room left over for work area. The drawer is very helpful. Holds a lot more than I expected. Since my keyboard is wireless, I don't use the drop down feature but, it's there if you want it! I prefer the storage. The finish is attractive & stylish. It was super easy to put together and feels very sturdy. I am extremely pleased with this desk. ... show more

Easy to assemble? 1 STAR!--NO HARDWARE INCLUDED WITH THE DESK. It's really hard to assemble without any hardware. I suppose I could just prop up the legs underneath the table and try not to tip it over. Sturdy? 1 STAR!--no, not very sturdy without the legs attached. It would be nice if hardware were included in the package. Spent 45 minutes on a scavenger hunt trying to find any directions or bolts/washers to connect the legs. Value for the money? 1 STAR!--no, actually a very big rip off since the only way I can use the desk is to place it on the floor. If it sounds like I'm a bit upset, you are correct in assuming so, since now I have a worthless, fake, desk with 4 non-attached legs sitting in my office, no instructions, no hardware. Update: Talked to Amazon chat about product issue and was told I could return the desk and have a new one sent out (Again, Are you kidding me?). I asked if I could have hardware sent to me, but was told "no." Then I was told to contact the manufacturer and they might send hardware (if available), but I would have to submit a invoice to the manufacturer. Long story, short, I could order hardware, but I would probably have to pay for it. Amazon credited my account $30 for my inconvenience, and I went to Menard's and found the replacement hardware for less than $5. Two hours later, the desk looks beautiful, however when I ordered the product I did not expect to have to go through all of this. I'm changing the rating to 3 STARS overall. ... show more
