  • Perfect for small and older children. Even my husband and I enjoy playing with the children.
Parental controls are the best I've seen. Software and content are engaging, effective, and fun. Durability is high; tested and proved by my active 2 and 4 year olds. Only two downsides, very minimal to the overall product. It does crash from time to time but has a quick recovery. The stylus is very nice but easily destroyed and seems had to replace. It is attached very well but tip is soft material. ... show more

  • Worth it
Pros Durable (Very) Very good apps Love the academy program not free but worth it(Im paying for it) My kid is homeschooled so you can track everything with the academy program Parents control everything that comes on to the tablet love that They have alot of games programmed on there It shows you what your kid interests are Battery is not that bad either Teaches independency Cons Stylus is very sensitive Screen is very bright even when adjusted Doesnt come with a stand (yes you can buy one but you have to remove the cover that protects the tablet) bought one and returned it. At first I was upset about this buy but I changed my mind. ... show more

  • Great tablet , just doesn’t last
The tablet itself is wonderful . I do think there is a malfunction with this particular brand/ series ( leap frog epic) this was my second purchase of this particular product and the screen once again went out . My 3 year old loves it. But I hate that I would have to purchase another . Had the first one for about 8 months before the screen went out , and the second one about 1 month . ... show more

  • Good & bad (mostly good!)
For my three year old it is absolutely perfect! He loves it! He’s learning from it and it keeps him entertained. Down side, everything in the App Store costs money. Nothing is free. Also, some of the apps won’t work sometimes. Sometimes it also freezes for a minute. But overall I’m glad I made this purchase. My son is learning a lot and he can do it himself most of the time. It’s a good starter out tablet. ... show more

  • My toddler loves it!
My son really loves it. It's very durable for kids. My toddler has dropped or thrown a couple times and it's never gotten a scratch or anything so far. He really loves the activities and games on it. Super kid friendly. Theres even a 3 month free trial and prices are slightly dropped when you do pay monthly after the 3 months are up. Though if you already have a free trial running before you bought this. I suggest ending the old one and restart a new one on the tablet. (Only way it seemed to work to get the 3 months free trial) which wasnt too big of a issue. ... show more

  • Great educational entertainment for kids but get a screen protector!
My only complaint about the Epic is the screen seems to scratch easily, but that has more to do with how my wife and toddler handle it than LeapFrog's design. I should have put on a screen protector from day one. Otherwise, it's very easy to use, can be linked to the Amazon app store for free apps, and the educational apps LeapFrog offers are far superior to most freemium ad-filled garbage you'll find on iTunes. The only non-Leapfrog app I put on the tablet is Netflix for the kid shows. Great to keep kids entertained and learning on road trips or situations where you can't afford to have a screaming toddler sprinting around in public. ... show more

  • I bought this thing 6 months ago and I hate it. It really boils down to a few ...
I bought this thing 6 months ago and I hate it. It really boils down to a few things that I think other shoppers should be mindful of. 1. No cartridge. This may sound like not a big deal but hear me out. The leapfrogs that have the cartridges allow you to buy games used, and save a ton of money. Another issue I feel is important is when my kids bday rolled around you have nothing to wrap and give them to open. I was left with having to print up a picture of the purchase and let him unwrap that. That may seem silly to some of you but he is 3 and if it doesn't come out of wrapping paper it didn't happen; also it makes me feel like crap when we are having a birthday party and most of his gifts are leapfrog games and it looks like you didn't get your child much because it's all digital. 2. The academy edition is a joke. they are not giving you free anything, they are having you put your credit card information in and will start billing you monthly after your "free trial" is up. 3. The design isin't so kid friendly. my kid chewed the tip off the stylus on the first day. That thing was not built to last at all. ... show more
