I wanted a brighter color, something that stands out, like a red or pink, but was not available in my size. (I just wear scrunchie reflectors in my hair or tape reflectors on my hat. I got this for my husband for kayaking. The XXL fits so much better than the cheap life jackets they give you with rentals. He is 5' 10" 240lbs and stocky with broad shoulders. He isn't a strong swimmer so he prefers to wear a life jacket the entire time. Even on a hot day with a T-shirt underneath this jacket was still comfortable. He even tipped his sit on top kayak (2 feet of water, hit a big river rock while bird watching lol) and the jacket wasn't cumbersome. Also the inside pocket was perfect for his phone so he could take pictures but it didn't get splashed by the oar or the class 1 rapids. ... show more
