I have seen reviews from others saying this is not a real Le Creuset mug. I have purchased mugs directly from Le Creuset, and some of them don't have the brand marking on the bottom, and some are slightly smaller/shorter than others. That is directly from Le Creuset. So the mug I bought in Palm from Amazon does not have the brand marking and is slightly smaller than some of my other Le Creuset mugs, but this is par for the course. Got this mug for my mom for Mother’s Day, (one of several gifts), and she loves it! She always says that a mug has to be white inside because it holds heat better. I’m not a coffee guy myself, but I can only imagine that this is a great mug based on the comments from my mother.

Ok folks, lets get it out there. This is just a coffee mug. Despite its lofty price, it has no other function. It won't cure acne. It won't wash the dishes. It won't cause the kids to pick up their room. As a coffee cup, its just... average. I've owned better. Sure, it could be worse, but I don't think its a great value. I ordered this cup to replace my favorite mug, a stoneware a friend gave me long ago with no brand markings on it (sadly, as it was better than this Le Creuset in several ways). This cup is on the smaller side for me. Its 2-4oz under where I'd like to be. 140oz is a generous measure. I'd call it more like 12. I prefer closer to 16. Its not heavy. Its rather light weight. For the price, I expected something more substantial. Its half the weight of the mug its replacing. Its a solid mug, decent finish inside and out. Its would be a good value at $8. It would be acceptable at $10 to $12. At $23-$28 (depending on color), its not worth it. Very overpriced. I saw some common questions I'll share responses to as well. There's a fairly obfuscated sticker on the bottom that says "Made in China" its really hard to read on this color. That's not an indictment by me. Lots of quality stuff is made in China. Just an observation for those who asked. Second, for the price, this packaging was entirely unacceptable. For the price, I'm expecting Apple levels of wow presentation. What I got was the mug loosely packed in a bubble bag with a couple inflation packs in a regular cardboard box. This should come inside a proper box to protect it. Yes, mine arrived fine. But I've had better packaged items arrive destroyed. ... show more
