Some things you buy aren't particularly flashy or brimming with features…the Le Creuset casserole is one of them. It is just a really well made, well-thought out, handsome-looking bit of ceramic that does a great job at making gratins and casseroles. I have made several with it, and they have all come out great (and that is saying something because I'm a pretty lousy cook). The casserole is just one of those things that does what it does simply, but extremely well. Yes, it's pricey…but it's going to last a lifetime and do as well the after a hundred uses as it does for the first. I don't think it matter, but for what it's worth, I clean it by hand…it's really easy to clean…I suppose it would be okay in the dishwaher…but I think cleaning by hand would probably be better…longevity wise. ... show more

Happy to find this Casserole pan at such a great price given it is a Le Creuset. Color matched the Le Creusets I already had. Baked a carrerole or "hot dish" as we call it and it was perfect. Although I noticed the casserole pan was very messy with burned casserole along the top side of the casserole mainly due to the sauce and cheese which is typical in other pans as well. Thought I would have to wash it by hand but the dishwasher completely cleaned it up. I like the heat retention so it stays warm for a long time. Always very pleased with the Le Crust brand. If you use this size of pan on a regular basis, do not hesitate to purchase this as it can also be used to bake all sorts of items such as chicken, beef, and fish. ... show more
