These do well blocking the ambient light at night but don't fully block out daylight. They don't seem to have any special blackout material or a double layer, just one thick (and surprisingly soft) layer of fabric. Like any curtains, you may have issues with light coming in around the edges and at the top. These arrived super wrinkly, so sometime soon I will try to address that, which is not my favorite thing. They also are a smidge shorter than expected, but are getting the job done pretty effectively.

I installed this curtain on a window near our home theater. As you can see from the dark picture it does a pretty good job of blocking the light. It would probably be better if it were a darker color to absorb the light. But we went with a color that works with our interior. It was really wrinkled. I’ve worked on it with a steamer and it is still fairly wrinkled. I’ll have To go over it a few more times probably.

Somehow curtains for one of my bedroom windows got thrown in the dryer. They had a plastic sort of backing to help black out the light, and it was melted in spots. I hung these and they filled the need perfectly. Just black curtains. Just no light!

The curtains themselves are nicely made and the material feels like good quality. The seams are sewn nicely and evenly. They were somewhat wrinkled when I first received them, which is normal for curtains that are shipped but after a while they did straighten out nicely. They do a very nice job at keeping most of the light out of the room as long as they’re close enough to the wall and completely closed. Overall a very nice curtain just as described.
