Yes, I’m cheap. That’s why I’m changing my own tires in the first place instead of paying the guy at the tire shop 10 bucks to do it. And because I’m cheap, I had been changing tires with my 20 inch irons that I got from the local discount tool shop and after each tire I swore I’d never do it again. With those tools I did manage to wrestle on some 8 ply trailer tires in about 1.5 hours. Not to mention I bent the heck out of the cheapie spoons and possibly my spine. This tire iron is completely different, I now change those same tires in 25 minutes flat and it’s a lot easier on my back. The iron is massive, it doesn’t bend or flex and the tips are rounded so it won’t knick up your beads or rims. See picture for comparison to the bent up HF irons. If this is your first go at it, you’ll probably need 2 irons. This one, and another (possibly cheaper) one. I did fine with the 2 you see in the picture ... show more

I've been going through a lot of trailer tires lately, between wear and nails; I'm averaging a tire or two a month. I have been using two 24" pry bars to mount and unmount my tires but this is a much better tool. Its good and thick at the tips so I am not worried about bending it, and the curves are at the right spot. I am able to break down and reinstall a tire in about 5 minutes with this tool ... show more

Overall, nicely made. Finish is done well. The tool is a good size and the material used feels strong. I don't change tires everyday so can't say how well it would hold up to that type of use. But this is plenty for the occasional repair. I can see this will make the job easier compared to the pry bars I've used in the past. ... show more
