These are made from strong plastic. The straps can be threaded through a couple of different placement options for a good fit. The spikes are a good length and quite sharp. These will aerate your lawn to an extent. They won't do a professional-level aeration job on your lawn, but I think we all know that going in to buy something like this. They don't pull any plugs up and out, but they do punch a good number of aeration holes into the ground to improve air and water flow. Assembly could be improved. It seems intuitive to put the spiked bolts through from the top (the side with the hexagonal recesses), but each one needs to be threaded through and fastened on the bottom. That takes a lot of extra time instead of sliding through and letting the head sit snugly into the hexagonal recess. Instead, you need to thread each one down to where the head meets the plastic and press it down with GREAT force to get it to go the rest of the way into the hole. It's impossible to turn it further in as the hole is hex shaped, so the head of the bold prevents it from screwing/threading in any further. You can put the nut on the bottom and tighten it as much as possible but it doesn't pull the head into the recess, so you still have to force it down and then tighten the nut the rest of the way. The mini-wrench included to help with this task is made of a weak material. If you try to tighten the nut to pull the head into the recess it will just as likely strip/bend the mouth of the wrench as it will pull the bolt any further into the recessed hex shape. By the second shoe you'll just be using the wrench to lay flat across the bolt heads to press and force them down that last few millimeters and try to tighten the nuts without the stripped mouth slipping and flinging it across the table. Images for strap configuration in the instruction sheet are all dark greyscale and impossible to make anything out. Even with better pictures or a narrative the straps are just that - straps with thin plastic buckles. The shoes do a good job for what they are, once you get past the assembly. The mud removal cleaning shovel shown in the product listing images does not come with this model. While it isn't specifically listed, it is shown and described along with the features like upgraded straps. Price-wise, these are a good value to comparable offerings around the current price of ~$22.

wore these while i scarified/dethatched my lawn, trying to get as much done as possible while covering the same steps. they are lightweight and I would avoid walking with these on pavers or concrete. the concept just makes sense and i wonder why it isnt ubiquitous. I am a fan, and it made 3 hours of work get done in 1.5 hours, thats half your day. totally worth it.

straps are junk!!!! Tried to tighten them and the plastic buckle broke. Didn't even try the rest of them. Would not recommend this product at all !!!!!!!

Pretty easy to assemble, one of the spike came with a flat head, had to request for a replacement. Fits perfectly for my shoe and easy to walk around on the lawn. Tiny shovel looks nice, can be used to remove dirt after use, might have to tighten the head to make sure it fits to the wooden stick provided.

Despite shoes were easy to set up I was able to drop them into my shoes and with the weight of my body. I’m doing little effort to aerate my lawn a lot easier than my other aeration tool which I have to put a lot more strength into putting aeration in.

These are much easier to move around in than I expected. I fully expected to need to alter my step to move through the yard but I was able to walk normally. As expected, hitting stone is jarring and difficult to move through. These were easy to assemble and wear, although there's no clear instructions on how to place the straps so you don't have to readjust regularly. If the straps are too long and you step on them, you will go straight through. The spike placement vs strap placement wasn't considered in the design phase and as a result you have to weave the straps around the spikes. You get exactly enough of everything, nuts, straps, and spikes. Unfortunately that last point is also a downside because one of the spikes came unsharpened and bent, so my shoe is one spike short. I'm not confident these will last long, the spikes are either Zinc and will rust quickly or Stainless Steel and will loose their edge quickly (I'm leaning towards Zinc). Additionally one of the plastic shoes came with a crack running across it, so it may break completely at some point in the future. Not really sure what the shovel is for, it's cute though. Sharp enough I won't be giving it to the kid anytime soon.

Your yard needs oxygen and these spikes are a good way to get that to happen. I wear when I’m mowing my lawn. My grass is starting to thicken up and look healthy again. To me this is a must have.
