It is durable and comfortable. I used it with sneakers and boots and would highly recommend using boots. It is great value for money and not weighty but sturdy. It takes a while to aerate the lawn using it. It is very stable but you will need to be careful when walking in it.

Does exactly what I expected it to do...punch a bunch of holes in my lawn. I wear them while I'm cutting the lawn. Will it make the lawn look better? Time will tell. But water does seem to soak in better. Build quality appears to be good especially considering the low cost. Should be able to get a couple seasons of use. As others have stated, kind of a pain to put on, but gets easier after a few times. Slightly small but the description does say up to men's size 9. I'm still able to use them well enough with 10.5 shoe.

I was about to make my own spikey lawn shoes with a wooden plank, 4" screws and duct tape. But then I saw these bad boys on amazon dot com and I was like, "ummm take my money". These are spikey as heck and aerate the heck out of my lawn. My neighbors get so jealous when they see me cartwheeling through my yard while I'm rocking these. Just strap them to your boots or shoes and start spiking up that lawn in minutes. They look super hot with my tims and if Tony from next door attacks me for blowing leaves onto his yard, he'll think twice when he sees my spiked up tootsies. I give them 5-stars, oh and my lawn says "thank you DenForste!"

They work fine. I just have a women's Size 7 and they did not stay on my shoes very well.

I've purchased other spike shoes like these but the reviews seem to suggest that these are the real deal - and they are! Very pleasantly surprised how easy they were to put on and use. The velcro straps work well and never slipped or loosened. I developed my own "walking" style with these to aerate a golf green I have in my yard. It can be a bit tedious but really only took me about 30 minutes to do. You have to walk almost like trudging through snow - to make an effort with each step to lift your leg up. Found a few muscles I didn't realize I had. It was not really tiring but I paused about 5 times to give my newly-found hip muscles a rest. Afterwards I examined the shoes and there was no damage and everything came out clean. They are very sturdy as they have a strong metal base. Really glad I got them.

For the price these did exactly what I hoped. They work well and don’t seem to get damaged if I accidentally hit a rock. If you really want to get every inch of the yard they will definitely be slow since you’ll be stepping one foot-length at a time. I found that if I just wore them and tried to walk normally it was easy to walk and I felt like it was enough coverage. I even wore them last time I mowed so that I was killing two birds with one stone. I didn’t like them at first because I tried to take one small step at a time with my feet side by side, if you’re really trying to hit every inch you might want a more traditional approach.

My lawn had a lot of dead patches that needed reseeding. I knew I had to do something when I tried to follow the instructions on the grass seed bag: rake the area, turning up the soil. My rake bounced off the hardpan that was the largest dead area. Only two years ago this was sod! After soaking the area with my hose I tried again. Then I grabbed a shovel and started trying to dig. The first 2mm of soil was damp, and underneath was dusty bone dry hard-packed earth. At that point I realized I needed aeration. But I wasn't about to buy an aerator or rent one from HD for $80 just for 40 square feet of dead lawn (the lawn is about 800 sq feet, so it's not all dead). I picked these up because why not? It looked pretty dumb, but it was worth a try. At the worst I'd get some exercise stomping on my lawn then return it. I fired up the sprinklers, then went and stomped on the lawn. It didn't look like it did much, and I resorted to hopping across the dead areas with both feet. My wife has a video of that somewhere. The holes didn't seem big enough to actually do anything. But after hopping around I fired up the sprinklers again. The next day I did some more hopping. With that round I noticed that the ground was definitely softer, even under the dead areas; even those seemingly tiny holes seemed to do something. When the sprinklers ran previously I could see pooling and it running off of those dead areas. Now it didn't seem as bad. I hopped for another round, and the spikes went into the ground much more easily. And the rake actually worked somewhat (it actually penetrated the dirt). I wasn't able to churn up the soil with the rake yet, but now there was hope. After a few more days of this I'll rake and reseed the area with TurfBuilder and see what happens. So for these, they work. I have them strapped onto a pair of old hiking shoes. You should probably use stiff soled shoes, because it takes a bit of force to get these into hard packed soil. Overall I'd buy these again. It's a great addition to your never-ending collection of backyard tools.

While they are quite a workout, they sure got the job done. My lawn looked beautiful after aeration and fertilizer. Got stuck and fell down a few times, but I’m clumsy, so I expected that to happen. Easy to put on over my sneakers.
