So far so good using these for aerating the small yard we have. I'm taking the advice of other reviewers and treating the velcro straps gingerly as they would/could have a tendency to come un-stitched. I wear a size 10 (men's) boot and these fit very well. The straps secure them well to my foot/boot. The spikes are long enough to be expected but I would mind them being about a half inch longer. Our (bermuda) lawn is mostly sandy loam so I have no problem with penetration. Results are yet to be seen during drought conditions (it's spring now so the yard is somewhat soft). The aluminum bottoms give rigid support so I doubt these will bend and break like the plastic ones.

I use it on clay soil after rain when ground was not too soft. This work out great. Due to spring dirt falls off and does not stick too much. Minimal cleaning needed during use. My feet is big so even then it was little big but due to strap worked out well and stay tight.

They performed great! I saw an improvement in how the water soaked into the grass/soil much easier and started to green up again. I will add that you may have to soak the ground area that you wish to aerate. It makes walking and penetrating the ground much easier.

These work super well when the ground is not extremely hard and the straps stay tight to the shoe. I wear a size 11 and have had no issues with slipping. Had no issues with mud sticking to the bottom.
