The light was everything it promised to be, and I was really relieved to be able to turn the light all the way down on the clock. The sounds were not painful and jarring. The temperatures and levels of light were wide ranging. I could fine-tune everything perfectly and was very pleased with this one after having tried others before not to my satisfaction. The app was horrific, though. It wouldn't save my settings no matter how many times as I pressed save. I eventually came up with a crazy workaround where I could jog away from the app while on the alarm page, then return and "cancel" and it would save. Even with how horrific the app was, after I found that solution I would have happily kept this light. It really is that good and ticked all my boxes. I ended up returning it because my apartment situation just couldn't abide. When I move, I'll have to get it again! ... show more

    • Overall, pretty good.
It’s a little annoying that I need to control it with my phone, and sometimes have slight connection issues that resolve easily enough. It’s a nice way to wake up, assuming that I went to bed on time and got enough sleep. If you’re a heavy sleeper and it’s important to wake up on time, I recommend setting a backup alarm on your phone too, in case you sleep through the gentle alarm on this clock. It hasn’t fixed all my sleep problems, but I think it helps somewhat. Glad I bought it. ... show more

I wanted an alarm clock for my daughter that had an app so I could change the alarm times through my phone and for the price this seemed like my best choice. Its very aesthetically pleasing and we like the color options but the app to control it is crap. Constantly says error when trying to change or add alarms. I can't figure out how to get it to turn into a night light / reading light without the app or if that's even possible. I think if the app worked better and the clock itself had more options on it , then I would like it more. We don't use Alexa so maybe it works better with that. I also didn't realize it doesn't have battery back up in case of a power outage either. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a new clock, but I didn’t want something boring though, and this model definitely attracted my attention. Right out of the box it’s looked like it was made of nice quality material and well built. The light itself look like it was made out of a polished stone, and my friends didn’t believe me when I told them it was just plastic, and had to go and touch it to check for themselves 😁 I also like the fact that the clock display was showing through the bottom mesh, and then hidden when the device turns OFF, which adds to the nice look of this device. There are some easy to reach touch switches, on the top and side of the color globe, that allows you to quickly turn ON/OFF the light itself, but also set the light’s brightness, as well as speaker’s volume levels. Although, that’s pretty much all you can do with the device itself. For all other settings, as well as accessing to those pre-programed relaxing sounds effects, you will have to install and use the Laview app. Finding the device through the app could a bit tricky though, and you will have to be sure that your phone/tablet is using a 2.5Ghz network, as it’s not compatible with the 5Ghz one. Also, you will have to create an account within the app, before you will be able to use it. But it’s as simple as just entering an email address and password. Once installed and all good, the app is pretty easy to use actually. There are big button/icons to click to trigger any pre-programmed sound, or even change the light color to your liking. There is also a section where you can set some meditation sounds and delay, so you can concentrate on being “Zen”, while the device takes care of the rest. The clock however will just set itself based on the time of your phone/tablet, so it’s pretty straightforward. You do have a choice/setting to let you display the time in 24h format if you prefer though. Other than the need of using the app all the time to use & setup the more advanced functions, this device is really nice, and so far, works flawlessly. ... show more

    • Great overall - but has flaws - use a phone alarm as backup
The biggest dislike about this product is the app, it is so very confusing to use it seems to have multiple ways to set up an alarm, and in the end it missed a few alarms and it keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi. So the alarms will not go through until 40 minutes later and I just can’t take that risk if I’m going to solely rely on this machine. I wanted this to work because I don’t wanna actually have to access my phone until after I get ready, so the alarm was supposed to keep me from being distracted and staying on track, I would say it did not have such a confusing app and if it did actually work when it supposed to it’s a total keeper. Great product! Made user friendly with the phone app. This light feature is extremely helpful with season affective disorder. The bright sunshine light is a positive way to wake up or a pick-me-up during the day. There is also the ability to select soothing sound with the light option. We have purchased other relaxation light alarm clocks (and returned them) but by far this is the best quality and feature rich one. ... show more
