As a fan of Lavazza coffee, I was happy to find it in pods for my Nespresso machine. Unfortunately, I am disappointed by the coffee produced. The taste of the coffee is good, but several capsules have not had any espresso in them. I put them in the machine and just water comes out. This morning this happened with 2 capsules in a row, and then I got an espresso out of the third one. This happened in a previous sleeve of capsules and I assumed it was a complete anomaly. I am on the subscribe and save plan and if it happens again I’m going to cancel and go back to Nespresso capsules ... show more

Ever since fake reviews came out a couple years ago, I refuse to review anything unless I really really like it. I love my nespresso machine SO much, I recently upgraded to top of the line (with the innovative milk delivery system). I've tried every single nespresso flavor. I thought they were fine. I had no idea there were alternate capsule providers. But when I took the first sip of this espresso, it blows away the nespresso flavors I think. This is rich, deep, smoky, smooth. Not what you will expect from a renowned Italian coffee roaster like Lavazza. I was very disappointed and will never buy it again...The taste is not at all "deciso" but more like "insipido", which in Italian means "tasteless"..

The capsules are pretty low quality which is totally unexpected from lavazza they don’t break through in my nespresso machine and all water ends up overflowing on the counter.

    • great flavor in capsules that BARELY fit in your nespresso
Flavor Name: Avvolgente 60 Caps
The flavor is great, exactly what you would expect from Lavazza, but the plastic capsules are undersized and tend to drop straight through the nespresso brewer... you can avoid this by inserting them slowly and holding them so the capsule is a little down to make it tension more in the track. Is it bad enough that I won't buy these again... probably not really, but its still a huge pain in the a** as you constantly have to dig new capsules out of the nespresso unit and re-insert them until they stick. Other concern, plastic capsules is a really bad thing in single use devices, MUCH worse than the genuine aluminum Nespresso capsules, and unlike nespresso, Lavazza do not have a organized recycling program, being Nespresso hands out free UPS recycling bags, I don't really see a practical benefit using these over the nespresso capsules. ... show more

First, having just returned from Italy, i was pleased to see that Lavazza introduced Nespresso capsules for their coffee. I was looking forward to having a nice espresso, but was very disappointed by the lack of taste, aroma and intensity of this Lavazza coffee. It tasted like old stale coffee (sitting on the shelf too long?) coffee to me. I usually drink the Nespresso Roma, Ristretto or Arpeggio capsules. So, if you like your Espresso the way i do, do not get the Lavazzo. Stick with Nespresso, never had a problem or complaint with their coffees. ... show more

    • Nice taste, but problematic 'fit'

Makes a very tasty cup of espresso (I brew these as Lungos), nice crema etc. Smoky notes. However: there are problems with the 'fit'. Most of the time after brewing, the capsule fails to drop. I have to take the used bin out, reach in with a finger, and try to dislodge the capsule to make it drop. Not a deal breaker, but inconvenient. Have been using both genuine Nespresso and Peet's capsules for years with no problems on my Nespresso U. Given the inconvenience, I would probably not buy the Lavazza again. ... show more
