Have only used it once but as a 52 yr old with dry skin, I’m pleasantly surprised that this powder didn’t look dry on me, dry out my skin or settle into lines and creases. I’ve only worn it once though because I chose the wrong color for my skin tone. A couple reviewers wrote that you could get away with wearing a few of the shades, so I chose based on that but it doesn’t work for me. I chose “Fair“ because for some reason, it was significantly cheaper than the other tones. And at these price points, I didn’t want to try a new foundation and dislike it. So, I thought with “Fair”, “Porcelain” and “Light” all having a similar color value (lightness), I’d be good. You can see in the pix that “Fair” is warmer (more orange) than “porcelain” and “light” but commenters have said it doesn’t matter. It does. I have cool undertones and “fair” made me very orange. And I only used the lightest touch and one layer- I didn’t build it up. “Porcelain” looks to be the same value but cooler-toned . I wanted to order “light”, which is between “fair” and “porcelain” in terms of warmth and coolness - it’s the most neutral. But “light” costs $8 more and “porcelain” costs $4 more than “fair” and like said, I didn’t want to pay $30-$34 for a product I was worried would be dry plus commenters said you could wear other tones and it would work with your coloring, so I trusted that. So now I’m stuck with this $26 product I can’t use. But I’m giving it 4 stars based on the wearability from the one time I wore it. Lovely coverage and it didn’t sink into my fine lines. Just know that it DOES matter what color you choose. And why is there such a vast difference in price between shades?? ... show more

I my aesthetician, so I’m very picky about the type of make up I put on my skin. The quality of this powder is very nice when you initially put it on it definitely makes and looks your skin look pretty dry but after it sets and you wear it for a little while then it goes, very nice looking and doesn’t make you look dried out or Matt at all but you have to make sure that you use the right brush with it and you feather it on and build it. For the most part, I like this makeup. I wish they made a few more colors. Porcelain is too light and Fair is a bit more orangish than my skin. Not orange, but I'm a bit more beige. But I've been using it. I like how easy it is to apply and it doesn't bring out wrinkles as much as most powders do. It's a very soft finish. I haven't worn it in cold weather yet, so we'll see. My normal day of makeup is eyeshadow, mascara & occasionally eyebrow liner. I’ve found it hard to find a foundation or even a tinted moisturizer that doesn’t feel heavy, awkward or uncomfortable on my face, if that makes sense. Most powder foundations dry out my face but THIS, THIS IS MY FAVORITE! I took a chance after reading multiple reviews and I’m so happy I did! It blends amazing well and doesn’t feel heavy! I recently went back to powder foundation after a few years of trying liquid matte finishes. My mom has been using Laura Geller for years, and I thought it might finally be my turn after turning 40. What I like: it’s lightweight, buildable, and true to color. It doesn’t get cakey or settle into fine lines, but it’s not drying either. It just feels like my own skin and that was really impressive after using liquid foundation for a long time. It keeps my face relatively shine-free all on its own. There’s no fragrance and the compact has held up well even with several weekend and work trips. Plus, you get a lot of product! I’ve been using it daily for 3 months and haven’t hit the pan yet. And for $30 with free next day shipping from Amazon… I just might never make a trip to Ulta for prestige brand makeup again! I also use the LG spackle primer and LG tinted moisturizer (with SPF) to obtain a truly full coverage and even out some redness and scarring. I was surprised I liked this powder foundation as much as I do! Great option if you want lightweight, medium coverage with one product. I bought this here on Amazon to try it out, and for the first use, I applied a hydrating primer and let it set, then I took my kabuki brush and applied the Laura Geller baked balance in Brighton foundation. Oh my gosh! It’s so light and easy to use, and makes my skin look. Amazing! I am getting rid of all my other foundations and using this exclusively. I’m 65 now and I need to wear make up for my work with the public as an event coordinator/public relations person I have just one word- amazing!!! I also use the Beverly Hills the lift be venom instant eye lift, which I apply before I put any primer or lotion on my face. ... show more

I'd never heard of Laura Geller until I saw one of her infomercials. I've never worn much make-up but I'm hooked for life on hers! I ordered her basic palette - all powder make-up and was stunned by how good it looked on. My husband commented that I looked really nice and didn't realize I had any make-up on because it looked so natural. The products are smooth and look really natural and there are sets for all skin tones and colors. The lipstick was very creamy and felt great on. She also has a variety of eye shadows in different color combinations. I've gotten my sister a palette in her skin tone for Christmas and I know she's going to love it and it will look just as natural on her. I really love this make-up. I was very excited to try this product! I ordered fair because porcelain is usually too light for me until winter really sets in (Syracuse, NY). Late Dec - Early Jan. Fair is surprisingly too dark. So, I’ll be trying the porcelain & I’m hoping that it will be light enough!
