Description

The start of everything is critically important - and every truly successful product or business starts with a successful launch. Unfortunately most entrepreneurs put all their focus into "getting the doors open" without giving much thought to creating a great launch. However, since 1996, Jeff Walker has been obsessed with creating hugely successful launches in our increasingly digital world. During those years Jeff created an unbroken string of amazing successes for himself and his clients. Operating tiny businesses in an almost underground society, they've collectively done over $400 million in sales. Launch is the "how to" manual for using Jeff's formula to follow a path of success - to create a product or business launch that gives you nearly instant momentum, sales, and positioning. Read more

  • A Non-Millionaire's Review of Jeff Walker's 'Launch'
Format: Paperback
I'm not a Internet millionaire. I'm an average digital business owner who enjoys minimal to moderate success so I have nothing to gain from this review of Jeff Walker's book, Launch. Jeff isn't going to ask me to do a JV launch with him anytime soon. It's not that the other reviews on this page are false or misleading, but some of these folks are so mega-successful that the average consumer might not connect with all of them. So here is my review; penned with the hope that you'll read it all the way through. A bit of history... Although I've run various iterations of my digital business at BarryMorris.net for about a decade, and despite spending thousands in that time on training programs and courses, nothing really brought it together for me. I don't blame anyone for not having achieved the success I envisioned. All the training programs were well-conceived and well-executed and I never for a second entertained the thought of a refund on any of them. My results are my results. I own them. When Launch came into my awareness, I figured, OK...after all, I've been around this block before more than a few times. I've written books, taught online courses, and run coaching programs and yet still hadn't 'broken through' at the level I wanted. So... there was Launch by Jeff Walker, not a name unknown to me because several of my online influencers have praised Jeff's work before. And being ever optimistic and always open to learning new things, I bought a copy for my Kindle. Here's where you probably expect me to start gushing praise, right? Not so fast. I'm made of tougher stuff. I'm not swimming in these waters for the first time. So...I started reading...slowly. What struck me right way about Launch was the honest voice that accompanied the text. I could hear Jeff speaking to me like there was an audio file running in my earbuds. It was kind of like I was sitting across the table at his place in Durango and he was simply sharing this information with me. I liked what I was hearing. His voice was genuine and in the same tone in which I write to my followers. But...still...I needed some additional time to get used to this seemingly straightforward manner. Jeff started his story my saying the he was once a stay-at-home dad trying to make something work. That he felt like a square peg in a round hole in the land of corporate cubicles. That's not something most successful men writing a business book lead with, considering his overt success over the years. I stop reading my Kindle and looked up. It was like a literary Jerry Maguire moment. It connected with me because I'd raised my youngest son alone for over a decade and I knew the struggles Jeff wrote about, but without the supportive spouse. I, too, felt completely out of place in the corporate world. Hmmm... So I read on...and on...and the deeper I got into this book, the more I saw what those other well-intentioned teachers tried to teach me years earlier. I read faster and faster and had to slow myself down to not miss anything. (I can get a bit excited at times.) Launch isn't the kind of book that you read and never pick up again. It's the kind of book that -if you buy the physical book- you'd keep open on your desk next to your Macbook. It's the kind of book that -if you buy it for your Kindle- you highlight light crazy and bookmark a lot. I haven't read anything since on my Kindle because I keep rereading Launch, making more notes and implementing as I complete a reread. Has Launch worked for me? Well, I'm not a millionaire yet, and I might ever be, but that isn't the point. The point is that Jeff's book connected with me on a level that allowed me to see that the strategies behind Launch that have worked -for many who wrote reviews on this page, if fact- and that they aren't just known in the darkened hallways within the secret societies of Internet marketing gurus. (kidding, y'all) But that there are some very straightforward strategies that work. And they work in almost any industry. I haven't fully launched a new product, but I have experimented with the 'Pre-Pre' and have seen the early collaboration Jeff promised that's helping me give my readers exactly what they want. If you're not an Internet millionaire (yet) and you have a few bucks to spend on this book, take it from me, there - is - hope. There is hope, and it's contained in Jeff's book, Launch. #ReadThisBook #ActOnWhatYouRead ... show more

  • AND THE REVIEWS ARE IN: This book is like a stack of blueberry pancakes that grandma used to make :-)
Format: Paperback
Jeff your book was great man, and I'm launching my first product right now on an online marketing forum. From there I'm launch stacking, and I've got my high ticket program built in place to stack my launches! I'm so happy I purchased this book, what you teach about the sidew..... wait I can't reveal that to the public - it's the most powerful piece of marketing information when it comes to launching your product - but let me say this type of letter is a game changer brother! I am so thrilled man - because the knowledge in this book is practical, useful, extremely valuable, and something that is going to change my life. I am so pumped right now, because I started with a zero list and now I have subscribers who have been opening my emails commenting on my content, and I know they are going to grab all that i have to offer on open cart day. Man this book is great bro, I can't wait to share my results from my first PLF style Launch. As a asidenote - I've done one launch before, but it only generated two handful of sales - but what I've learned here is what I've been waiting for since I first heard about the concept of product launching. And for the person reading this review who has not bought the book - I have no association with Jeff Walker (although after reading his book - I'm gonna meet him in Colorado and go Skiing with him) prior to my purchase of his book Launch. But now that I have this, I highly recommend that you buy this book! Even if you only have 20 bucks in your bank account, this will be the investment that will multiply itself many times over. I'm already getting results with it, and my launch isn't for a few days from now - however - by the time you read this, I'll have already launched my first "LAUNCH" style launch. Man thanks so much Jeff for sharing this with me bro. I know you're reading this, and I hope it touches your heart to know that your work has changed my business already. I'm looking forward to what will be coming next in regards to launches, launch stacking, and building my business with your knowledge and guidance. BUY THIS BOOK! Seriously if you're still reading my rant and rave about his product then it's time to make a decision, whip out your credit card, add this to your amazon cart, then buy this book! Buy two copies, heck buy three for your family! Man buy a whole box of these books and start handing them out to random people around the world - it will make your world a better place! I'm going off on a tangent here, but Jeff bro - thanks for the book! I've been recommending it to my clients, and I am applying what I've learned and getting small results so far. I'm only in pre-launch phase - but I'll find a way to let you know about what happens once I actually launch! Also - I am 'The Digital CEO' You'll hear about me soon! Thanks so much Jeff - for you reading who is not Jeff - BUY THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW! Or risk being banned from the internet and all the other cool things in life ;-). #BOSSSTATUS ... show more

  • Solid Intro to Product Launch Formula
Format: Paperback
As far as I can tell, pretty much every big, successful internet marketer out there has learned from Jeff, so I bought this book to see if I wanted to sign up for his full course, PLF (Product Launch Formula). With that in mind, it gave me enough to want to buy the course, for sure. I'm giving it four instead of five stars because really, the book would have to be at least three volumes to go into enough detail for a reader to follow a step-by-step formula. The book is instead, in my opinion, a somewhat-detailed overview -- but overview, nonetheless. Like I said, though, it gave me plenty enough to get excited about. Also, not a criticism but a comment: This book does not tell you what business model to have or what to sell. If you don't know (like me), the book can still be useful in thinking about it because Jeff gives lots of real-life examples of people who have used the formula, but it won't make that particular question any clearer. What it is is a very effective online marketing plan, and not one that tells you just to go out and post to social media, either. (I was particularly pleased by this point.) I also figure Jeff wouldn't be so popular if the formula didn't work. So I'm definitely on it! ... show more

  • The Single Must-Have Book On Launching Your Business Online
This book is the single best book on the subject of launching a product (any sort of product) on the Internet - but it's more than that, too. It's really a textbook for what I think of as the "Modern Business Launch". The Internet has given almost anyone the ability to launch a business, establish a platform, and create a legacy, starting from scratch. Yes, there are the well-known outliers, like Zuckerberg and Jobs. But there are also the "millionaire next door" types: people who have built wealth in a diverse range of businesses like herbal remedies, dog training, guitar lessons, board games, service businesses, software, and many more. And the one guy who has helped more of these "entrepreneur next door" types than any other is Jeff Walker. Jeff has been quietly training thousands of these people in his Product Launch Formula (PLF) for a few years, and his students have sold over $500 million in products and services using his PLF techniques. And now, Jeff has distilled the essence of his $2,000 training into this one concise book. It's written in a breezy, fun-to-read style, and is filled with inspirational and instructive stories. More importantly, the book contains all the basic elements of Jeff's high-level course (I know, because I bought the course, too!) And as a veteran of many launches, I can tell you with certainty that anyone can read this book, follow its instructions, and do a successful launch. Now, it should be obvious that there is more training available in the many hours of video that are part of Jeff's course - but I this book is quite complete and usable in and of itself. The good news is that you don't just get the book - you also get tons of free instructional videos and case studies in the companion (free) website. I assure you: you can skip all the other books and just get this one. Jeff's methods are proven and tested over the course of years. There's a reason why this is the only book on the subject to become a New York Times #1 Best-Seller. It's the real deal. ... show more

  • A Powerful Approach to Launching Your Product/Business
I took a chance and bought Jeff Walker's book because of all of the generally positive reviews on Amazon. I am pretty well read in the field of internet marketing and I certainly was expecting to learn some valuable information relating to marketing on the Internet. I was NOT expecting to be wowed the way I was with this material. Jeff Walker walks you through a completely new approach to marketing your product or business on the Internet. His approach taps into all of the tried and true psychological techniques and approaches for influencing others. I am a strong proponent of Robert Cialdini's "Influence" and his psychological approach to sales and Jeff Walker masterfully includes all of these approaches in his Launch. We do business with those we respect, trust and like. Jeff Walker's Launch is masterful at allowing marketers to build their authority, build trust and generally have your audience like you in the process. Often, when entrepreneurs who have a product or service to sell write a book about their approach, the book ends up being a glorified sales piece with an occassional hint of valuable information. That is NOT the case with Jeff Walker's Launch. Yes, it is true that Jeff Walker has a very expensive internet marketing and mentoring course that he does refer to in the book. Yes, it is true that he recommends this course in the book. Yes, it is true that the book does not contain everything that you would find in the course. But by golly, the book is substantial nonetheless. He takes you step by step through an overview of the entire launch process. He explains precisely why each component is essential and how to use it in the grand scheme of things. He does this in a very friendly and readable format that you can blow through in a few hours. I am going to be reading this book over and over, making notes and planning my product launch using the approach Jeff suggests. I highly recommend you check this one out. ... show more

  • Transformational for Tiredless Entreprenuers in Need of Strategy and Inspiration
Format: Paperback
I am thrilled that Jeff Walker finally decided to write this book because it helped me discover his work and what he is doing to help thousands of entrepreneurs. This book is a fantastic tool to help us navigate the murky waters of online marketing. The book came out just at the right time, as I'm getting ready to launch my first book and complementary products. I found Launch incredibly helpful, striking a great balance between information and inspiration. What Jeff is sharing is not completely new to me as I consider myself a fairly savvy entrepreneur and well read on all things related to building a business and marketing products. However, the biggest benefit, at least for me, were the compelling stories of other entrepreneurs who had struggled to gain traction in the past and finally found the perfect blueprint that worked for their unique product and situation. I appreciated Walker's candor and helpfulness, outlining various paths to launch a product, depending on one's specific scenario. And although Launch doesn't spell out the step-by-step how-to process, it's easy to connect his formulas to widely available information on the internet or books many of us, entrepreneurs, should have read before. If you are looking for a step-by-step, tactical manual, look elsewhere. But if you are someone who needs the inspiration to persevere and the strategic mindset to keep moving forward with a clearer formula in hand, this is the book for you. In my experience, when much of my energy is spent on the creative process, writing and developing content--the latter has been truly a blessing. Bottom line--Launch will help you connect the dots and get a high-level, strategic perspective. It will transform your project if you have an open mind and the willingness to learn and work hard. Thank you, Jeff, for your generosity, both through this book and through all the free content you continue to share beyond the pages of this book. I hope I get o meet you in person one day. ... show more

  • Decent Book - Misleading Title
The tag line "Secret formula to sell almost anything online" should instead read: "Secret formula to sell INFORMATION products online". There's some solid advice in here, but it's certainly much more niche than it (or all these reviews) claim. Walker seems an established, respected, early pioneer of using the internet to make money. His tried and true tactics of email-list building, hype generation and offer "launching" are all very sound. He shares his system in-depth. He has some great advice, great case studies, and presents everything in a very simple, easy-to-read format. My issue with the book is that it isn't a "Guide to sell anything", it's a guide to sell INFO. Jeff highlights how he made his early money selling stock trading tips. The book uses example after example of people selling webinars, instructional videos, e-products, etc. The one example of a physical good is a board game...focused on informational teaching. It's all good stuff...it's just frustrating that the title, the blurb and the reviews don't key you into the fact that it's going to be so niche. Early in the book Walker himself admits that this isn't a system for you if you're selling widgets (i.e. your business sells goods). Towards the end of the book he proclaims "Be in the business of selling information" and makes a brief note that all businesses can benefit from teaching insider info on their industry - but this is basic content marketing, no secret launch formula. If you're launching a business that sells goods, or provides non info-related services....there's a decent chance you're going to be let down. If you're selling info, and want to hype my inbox with a little more class and smarts than the spam it usually receives, I'd definitely recommend the read. I enjoyed the last third of the book where Walker waxes a bit nostalgic about his path, and what an entrepreneurial lifestyle can provide. And I did still walk away with a few nuggets that after some crafting and creativity will be applied to my own case. It's an interesting primer, but certainly leaves you wanting more. Perhaps the crux of a successful email marketer turned author. ... show more

  • Changed my life. I feel equipped instead of scared for the first time ever.
Format: Paperback
I’ve always had a love for design and branding, and worked with my husband Scott to build a brand called charity: water for an entire decade. When I had kids, I left our first baby (the organization) to focus on the two human babies we had at home. But I wanted to continue my career in a way that worked with my new role of motherhood. I have to be a good mom first and foremost, but I still want to work at my own pace and have a flex schedule. I still have so much I want to share with the world that I believe will help people. I’ve always followed successful infopreneurs online and marveled at their skills around marketing, copywiting and their ability to show up in my inbox with great content that spoke directly to my needs, at the perfect time. but I always thought they knew some kind of magic information that allowed them to be so successful- which I definitely didn’t possess. Because I felt so intimidated at the thought of having to spend years figuring out how to launch my idea (teaching entrepreneurs how to build their brands) I decided this just wasn’t for me. I truly thought these people all had something that I didn’t, which made them successful. Turns out, all they had was the knowledge and instruction that Jeff teaches in his book. After reading Launch and taking pages of notes, I feel like my life has changed. I haven’t even launched my business yet, but I feel like I have the confidence and knowledge for the first time in my life and that alone has opened up the possibility for me to dream. Plus, I know that Jeff’s formula has worked for thousands and will work for me if I just follow it, which just takes SO MUCH of the fear out of the equation. I got to meet Susan pierce Thompson last month and while we were chatting in my kitchen, I asked “how did You start your idea?” Thinking she either struggled for years while figuring out her messaging strategy, or she was just born knowing how to market effectively. But she said “all I did was follow what Jeff teaches in his book, and in the course. That’s it” and then she added “When I see people fail at this stuff, it’s just because they ignore parts of Jeff’d advice. I just did exactly what jeff told me to do.” Susan had my attention. Jeff, thank you sincerely for how generously you live your life. You have taken what felt like mt. Everest in my head, and turned it into a hill. I know Its still up to me to do the hard work, but Having The tools you teach in your book has, for the first time, given me the confidence to start. ... show more
