Lattafa Amethyst I like this scent a lot. To me it smells like equal parts dry incense-type woods and dry roses. Over time the roses slowly fade and the woods seem less dry. It's kind of dark and mysterious and it appeals to the goth girl in me. I can see this being nice on a man as well. On my skin it lasts half a work day, on my clothes it lasts around 24 hours. I think 2 sprays is the maximum I would wear because it can be kind of strong. The box it came in is a nice presentation like a gift. The bottle feels solid and heavy and looks nice on my shelf. The atomizer gives a good fine mist in the air. When I first received my bottle it was already leaking from where the atomizer collar attaches to the bottle. It would leak every time I sprayed until I had used enough that the liquid level lowered a bit. It doesn't seem to leak anymore, but the finish on the outside of the bottle is a little damaged from it. Also, this had to macerate for at least 3 months and continued changing slightly for over 6 months. The first spray was hideous - like gasoline, melting plastic, and rubber. It was a blind buy and I was heartbroken. But I was hopeful. I did one spray into the sink every few days and after a month I started to smell something perfume-like under the melting rubber stench. Over the next few months the terrible chemical smell faded away to reveal the scent I was hoping for. No regrets buying this. I used to wear it almost daily but then moved to a tropical climate so now I only wear it every month or so. ... show more

Initial opening will garner one or more reactions 1. You hate it amd it's off putting to synthetic 2. It's a love hate Parts of it you will like and some not so much 3. You'll love it if your into dark oud saffron spicy openings This fragrance opens with a strong oud and saffron so you get a rubber smell from the saffron. So easy on the sprays there ace the projection is crazy. The mid bring you into the nutmeg, oud and pitcholi so your getting more of a spicy scent, little sweet, earthy, and the argwood Drydown base notes is lataffa signature... its the quintessential wait for it. The argwood oud, nutmeg, pitcholi really holds it together but the saffron has not burned off the chemical rubber smell and you're left with the sweetness of the saffron that rounds this scent off. This is a winter fall scent, you want to wear your grown man power suit with this one. I sure the performance and sillage will be crazy good Look around for a sample this is not a safe blind buy. If you've never smelled oud before go to your nearest Nordstrom or Neiman and try tom ford oud or initio oud for greatness so that you can get a sense of how dark this scent is ... show more
