    • Unique and unlike any other scent on the market... from Lattafa?!
I've sniffed over 900 perfumes and colognes, so I will try to cut to the chase. Of all of the Middle Eastern mainstream dupe brands (Afnan and Armaf to name a couple to stay away from), Lataffa has by far the most cloned scents and can be pretty hit or miss. This time, they have made a new creation with a named perfumer, Jordi Fernandez no less (who I will admit is the nose behind most of my all-time favorites regardless of price) and uses the exclusive Cocoapulse molecule (Akigalawood + cocoa butter). What I will say is that this long lasting cologne that works anytime except in hot weather smells like nothing else I have come across in my scent journey, and the cocoa butter smells amazing as a semi-gourmand for men as it is not overly sweet whatsoever. It is also one of only 3 scents I consider among my Top50 that retail for <$100 for 100mL. The trick with any Middle Eastern perfume is that you MUST macerate the juice for 1-3mo+ before drawing conclusions. Do this by simply spraying 5-10x times and then letting it sit in a cool, dark place. Safe to say, this is a very impressive creation from what is normally known as a clone house, and easily worth the slight premium compared to Lataffa's other offerings. This one took me some time, but I now love it and would definitely purchase it again. It lasts about 6-7 hours. I actually like to layer this with Armaf Odyssey MEGA — 2-3 sprays of Musamam and 3-4 sprays of Armaf Odyssey MEGA. Perfect for a night out or just to get compliments. I wouldn’t call this a unisex fragrance. I think it’s more manly (but to each their own). It softens after a couple of hours but still remains masculine. 10 out of 10 highly recommend. Great silage but not overpowering, amazing unique smell with a beautiful dry down and a superb value at under $50. This cologne smells like it should cost $400 and I’ve spent that much in the past with not as much quality. I met a guy at a buffet wearing this and literally stalked him to find out the name, I’m glad I asked. If you’re hesitant to buy it, don’t hesitate. It also smells best after an hour.     • Musamam Black Intense Feels Like Lattafa Trying to Go Upmarket

Lattafa Musamam Black Intense is one of the more interesting newer releases from the brand because it doesn’t feel like a typical Lattafa clone. Instead, it comes across like Lattafa trying to step into a more modern niche-style lane, and for the most part it works. Right from the opening, this one feels different. You get a bold aromatic mix of lavender, nutmeg, sage, and bergamot. It opens spicy and slightly fresh, but not sweet. It leans more mature than what most people expect from the brand and doesn’t immediately scream mass appeal. As it settles, the structure becomes clearer. The mid brings in cedarwood, geranium, and clean woody aromatics that give it a designer-meets-niche vibe. This is where it starts to feel more “elevated Lattafa.” It smells more composed and blended than their typical loud sweet releases. The real identity shows up in the drydown. This is where Musamam Black Intense separates itself. The base brings in tonka bean, patchouli, maple woods, and modern amber materials along with a creamy cocoa-style warmth. The result is a smooth, woody sweetness that feels rich without going full gourmand. That creamy tonka and cocoa base is what most people latch onto. It gives the fragrance a warm, slightly sweet, modern feel that comes across smooth and a bit mysterious. It is not really a clone of anything obvious. Some comparisons float around like Bad Boy Extreme or Gentleman Society, but it feels more like a hybrid DNA than a direct copy. Performance from early impressions is generally solid. Most people report strong longevity with good projection, especially once it settles into the richer base. It is not consistently described as nuclear, but it clearly performs above average designer fragrances and leans more into that long-lasting modern amber style. Stylistically, this is not a fresh or casual scent. It fits much better in cooler weather and dressed-up settings. Think fall and winter evenings, date nights, or situations where you want something warm and a little more refined. Overall, Musamam Black Intense feels like Lattafa trying to move slightly upmarket. It’s a great cologne with a very sweet fragrance and a long-lasting scent that leaves an exotic aroma on your clothes, making people turn their heads when you walk by. I recommend it.

    • Cool bottle, bad scent
The bottle is cool, and it comes with a nice container to keep it in. the scent also lasts quite a while, well over 8 hours. Unfortunately it smells sort of like a chalky baby powder, so I will absolutely not be using it. 😔
