  • Blown away...almost
Color: black
Gotta say, I am blown away. Figuring I'd get a blemished guitar, I ordered 2 of the Grey Burst Latitudes off of Amazon a couple days ago. Returns are easy, so I'll keep the better one and return the other. Well, the first one just arrived. Unlike a couple grey bursts reviewed on YouTube with Gold hardware, mine came exactly as pictured on Amazon with Chrome hardware, which I prefer, and it looks gorgeous. Ya, I looked at similar "light" LP style guitars sans pickguard including PRS SE, Epi Muse, Guild Bluesbird, Hamer Monaco, Vintage V100 and EART (didnt want to deal with shipping a HB). Looks are subjective, but none come close IMO to the Latitude, especially at this pricepoint. Aestheticly, I cant find anything wrong with it. The frets are pristine and the nut looks like its cut perfectly. Super comfortable with the thin cut body and the neck profile is going to be a lot of fun. However, the action is set way too low and it needs setup, intonating and tuning, no big deal. The only thing I'd suggest they change is to add a belly cut, a logo to the center of the headstock to take up all the dead space and to swap those goofy gold knobs with chrome knobs, to match the rest of the hardware. Once my second guitar arrives, I'll choose one to keep and begin the setup and add my strap locks, treble bleed and maybe a coil split. I presume it will sound as good as those that have already been reviewed online. Nice job Latitude, well done! Update 1: 2 days after unboxing, I found a couple flaws. A chip in the binding near the pup switch. Also, could be me but the G string appears identical to the B string in width and has far more slack/less tension than the other strings....and it doesnt want to stay in tune, perhaps due to the nut cut. Update 2: The second guitar has arrived. It has a proper G string and plays fine. G string on the first guitar is thinner, identical to the B string in width. Not sure how this passed QA. Second guitar has puddling in the binding laquer by the double-dot, with discoloration and 2 additional binding flaws. Not a pretty sight, so I immediately returned that guitar to Amazon after swapping G strings. I'm deciding if I want to attempt a 3rd guitar or see if I can get comped to fix the binding flaw in the first guitar. It's perfect except for that binding chip. I'm still blown away by the looks, playability and sound....nothing else compares, especially if a quilted grey burst is your thing. Looks even better than the Grey Burst PRS SE 245 at $800. ... show more

  • Returned the first one and now have another; much better!
Update, took a chance on a second one... Just got another on today. So far it seems pretty good. bridge posts both lean a bit toward the tailpiece but it is acceptable. Couple of minor finish flaws and a little dent on the back but nothing really bad. Action was quite low out of the box and the intonation was off but easily fixed with a little standard set-up. Pickups measure a little less than 8K ohms and are not especially microphonic. Wax squashed out when adjusting the pole pieces so they must be pretty well potted inside. Pickup selector is leaf spring type not the cheapo box switch I expected. I like the roller bridge; made intonation adjustment so easy. About to replace the strings with a 10-46 D'Addario set but the factory strings were really not bad. Very nice fretwork and rounded polished ends. Fretboard inlays are well executed and the wood is nice fine grained if a bit dry. So far I'm pretty pleased but glad Amazon has such a easy return process since the first one was a dud. Raised my rating from two to four stars. Would have been five stars if the finish imperfections were not there and the intonation was not so far off. Nut is indeed bone and the slots could be deeper but since I'll be doing some slide work that's fine with me for now. Top does appear to be an actual veneer not a "photo-finish" since the grain does change with the viewing angle. Nice features and good value spoiled by slipshod quality control. First the good; good packaging. Nice finish, smooth even frets and nice sounding pickups. Arrived with very light but very fresh strings. Attempted a basic setup but could not correctly adjust intonation of the E A and D strings. Bass side bridge post insert was installed crooked. Basic assembly fault. This should never have made it out the door of the factory. Photos illustrate the issue really well. Proper bridge location is fundamental to a playable usable guitar or bass...FAIL ! Update, took a chance on a second one... ... show more

  • Great Les Paul copy for that vintage look and sound.
Color: Tobacco
The Latitude NW-1915 is a great guitar. Since I got it a few days ago, I have been playing it damn near non-stop. It did require a bit of setup to get it just right for my taste, but it did play well out of the box. Needed a slight truss rod adjustment, action set, pickup height adjustment, then it was ready to rock. As you can see in the pictures, the finish of the guitar was not perfect by any means. A few scratches on the headstock that were touch up painted, probably due to strings scratching during assembly. There were a few minor finishing flaws here and there, all of them being of a cosmetic nature only. In my opinion, it adds to the character of the instrument. Not a big deal. Playability and sound ranks up there with any other high-end guitar I have owned (including a Gibson Les Paul). If you are in search of a decent Les Paul copy, this is a winner. ... show more
