I bought these for my 15-year-old son for Christmas.. he loves them and has played them quite frequently.. they sound wondeful and play with a nice rich sound to them. My only issue is i now have to replace the head on one of the drums as it has torn. I don't know how they got torn, so I can't necessarily say it's the product. But being that the heads themselves cost almost as much as the drums, i will be buying him this same exact set again (which should tell you that despite that, I am very satisfied with the product). My only advice, if you buy this for your teenager, is to make sure they store them in the bag that comes with it and have a designated place to put them, because they do appear to be a bit on the fragile side, head wise.. as it appears most will be.

These bongos are cool. it looks great and sound great. it even brings a tuning wrench and a bag. but the only thing i don't like is the bag. i don't know how to put the bongos in the bag right and it looks weird. but i don't care,i only care about the bongos. if it look great,sound great, and brings a tuning wrench, its okay with me. but the important part is that i love these bongos. and i hope that this was helpful for you and that you would like them 2.

I bought this Bongo for my 1yr old son. Obviously I was planning on plying it with him, so I didn't want a cheep kids toy. Once it arrived we loved it. I would play it then he would play it and it sounded great. You can tighten the bolts to improve the sound, and it does have good highs and lows. Only problem was that my kid smashed one of the drum heads with what was basically a heavy drum stick and sliced the skin. I taped it from underneath and it sounds ok. Lesson learned, this is a great Bongo but if your buying it for a kid just go with a toy bongo first.

I have never played bongos before; this is our first set. They were purchased for hobby use. I was hesitant to buy them after reading some of the "low-star" reviews, but decided that I was tired of waiting for the "perfect" set and just bought these. I'm glad I did. They sound great! We tuned and oiled them with almond oil (as is recommended by some professional players) when they arrived. They have a very nice sound and are loud enough to sound through the guitars, ukuleles, and other instruments in our home. We have had them for 1 week and we really like them. I would recommend these.

I no nothing about Bongos, but these seem to have a nice tone I had bought one set from a music warehouse as a birthday present for my brother. Then I saw these (almost the same thing as the warehouse version) on Amazon at nearly a third the price and thought these would make some cool Xmas presents. Then I figured it would be good to have a set myself as well.

I'm a newbie and I bought it to learn, but I could immediately tell that the rough finish and soft spots on the heads was not good. Well the hide pop a hole two moths later (on that soft spot). The tuning screws did not seem to match the nuts shipped and to make it worse, the metal used is quite soft. Bottom line, if you plan to tune them you would easily damage the screws and nuts. I tried buying the new parts to get them to a good condition, but it was more expensive than buying a new set of decent bongo. Disappointing!

They are small but other than that the quality is A1 excellent. This is a tough heavy(sturdy materials) drum set which is very durable. They look very nice too. Perfect for a kid who is experimenting with playing bongo drums. Would definitely recommend.

great quality for the price. bought for a yankee swap and people were surprise and thought it was a great idea. This gift was wanted by everyonw, but we got to take it back home with us! Good sound, fits on your lap, comes with carry bag, and wrench for adjusting.
