It's important to first say that I returned this large bottle and bought the smaller bottle BUT the functionality is the same. I want to keep water handy but I hate the taste and smell when water in plastic bottles sits around. I was already aware of the value of the UV-C light zapping bacteria, so I was curious as to whether this bottle was worth the price. The short answer is Yes. I like that it's stainless steel rather than plastic; it will keep water cool for several hours (I usually put the bottle in the fridge overnight). And having left the bottle out and unrefrigerated several days after drinking from it, I again found the water to be as fresh as if I had just filled it. So it does work! Be aware, there are a LOT of copy-cat bottles on the Internet that do NOT do what the Larq bottle does (nor have they been tested to prove they kill the bacteria). Spend your money on THIS one if you can find one -- they've been sold out lately. Good luck! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I love this water bottle and use it every day. I definitely recommend purchasing if you drink a lot of water and want a self-cleaning bottle. It is a little expensive but definitely worth the investment.

This bottle works great. Keeps my water cold and tasting fresh and never smells funky. Battery lasts pretty long. I got almost a month and a half from 1 charge. It also looks pretty cool. However, the 1 thing that keeps me from using it…the mouth is too small to fit ice from a dispenser and ice cubes in general (until they melt a little). It doesn’t sound like a big deal but I like my water cold. I’m used to the 40oz hydroflasks with the wide mouth and those fit ice no problem so I can fill it with water and ice at the same time from my home fridge or when out and about. Sure you can just add water that’s already cold but that’s not a real world application I found myself in. I’d say if you’re often adding ice to your water from a dispenser or your fridge, just know you’re going to sacrifice that luxury for this bottle. It was great until it unexpectedly broke after a few weeks. The cap says it’s off even when it’s on and it won’t self clean like it’s supposed to. I’ve looked online and there are reviews saying the same thing. Problem is I bought it from Amazon and they aren’t accepting returns for this. It doesn’t work any more. I’m so disappointed because it was great until this happened. I’m too worried to buy a new one. Please replace the cap Larq or Amazon and I’ll remove this review. The bottle is great. It has a great feel, great size and even though I use filtered water from my refrigerator, it makes the water taste better. The mouth of the bottle is a perfect size. Worked great for a month, now all I get is the orange safety ring and no blue ring. Still keeps cold very well but sort of bummed for $125 at least last a year. Never dropped it or anything so who knows.
