I love all of the pockets and storage areas in this bag. The color will look great with anything and looks like it will wipe free of stains. I also appreciate the waterproofness of the bag and the fact that it will make a great carry on for my upcoming trip. Large enough to carry everything I will need enroute and more and also to comply with TSA restrictions. I really like the bottom pocket into which a pair of shoes with sox tucked inside will fit without getting my other clothing soiled. Opens wide you so have good access to all of your belongings.     • Nice personal item for air travel - just don't over stuff it

I purchased this backpack specifically to use as a "personal item" for a domestic flight on an airline (Frontier) that charges for any type of bag other than personal items. I bought the size "large," thinking that it was slightly under their size requirements for a personal item, so it should be good. I then proceeded to pack it full for my few-day trip. The airline now requires all personal items (at least out of Denver) to be placed into their sizing scale to ensure it will fit before allowing boarding. I managed to cram the bag into their mechanism, but it was not easy, so just be forewarned if you are one to like to stuff things full that you may struggle with this. Beyond the issue specific to this airline, the backpack itself was mostly great for traveling! It's water resistant, has lots of compartments/zippers/etc and has a padded back to provide some comfort while carrying. I particularly like the separate compartment for shoes, and although anything added here does take up space inside the interior of the bag, I like not having dirty shoes touching my clean clothing or getting electronics wet. I will say it's easy to pack this bag which is both a blessing and curse as I ended up having a pretty heavy bag to carry -- of course, that is the fault of the packer and not the bag itself. The small front zipper was great for keeping my phone and ID handy for showing as needed, and I appreciate the compression straps/clasps to help keep the pack as small as possible. I should also note that it would likely be a struggle to get this item under many airline seats (which is often the requirement for a personal item), even if it wasn't stuffed full. I didn't even try because there was plenty of overhead room, but another possible hiccup for travel. Although I've only used this for one round trip, it seems as though it will hold up decently to use and hopefully, in the future, I won't have to put quite so much into it so it won't be as hefty a load to carry. For the price and ease of use, I'd absolutely recommend and/or purchase again if needed in the future, but hoping this one will last awhile as I don't deal with a ton of airline traveling. ... show more

    • Tons of pockets and little compartments! Durable and reliable.

TL;DR: Lots of pockets, durable, cute colors. Overall a good buy! It also survived a round in my washing machine so, bonus points for that. I took some time to use this bag for a couple of months before writing any kind of review and it has passed what I considered enough trials and tribulations. There are a plethora of pockets to help organize your belongings and to facilitate access; there's even a "waterproof" one that helps provide peace of mind in the event you're worried something will leak. There's a "secret" pocket on the backside for important things you don't want people accessing easily. The only pockets I really have qualms with is the "shoe" compartment at the bottom, since it doesn't really provide extra space. It uses the same internal space as everything in the bag since the pocket juts inward rather than outward. And the second one is the water bottle pocket, because it doesn't expand very much and it's a bit shallow but it fits 16 oz water bottles nicely. A little more wary about 24 oz bottles. There exists an attachment on the bag where you can attach a cable to the inside of your bag and run it to the outside to help you charge your device on the go. They've included a USB-A to USB-A cable, but as I said, it can be unhooked and replaced with whichever type of cable you need. This bag also has buckles to help keep all your stuff compact and from jostling around. This is a great, durable bag that has weathered carrying ALL of my belongings (clothes, toiletries, souvenirs, etc) for a 6 day trip to Hawaii and also survived being lugged around and stuffed after a week long excursion to Italy for the same purpose, in addition to other smaller trips I've taken. ... show more

I originally got this backpack with the intention of using it to my college classes, but it was a little too big for that. However, while I would not recommend it for school use, it is the perfect size for travel. I have used it several times for trips, and it is amazing. This came with me on a 3+ week international travel stint and I will not travel again without it. The zippered sections were just right, and the zippers line up to be able to use TSA/travel locks. the straps are very, very comfortable, and the bag is sturdy and durable yet soft and comfy to wear for extended periods. I loved the color, almost periwinkle, but if I were to buy this bag again I'd get a darker color to better withstand the inevitable dirt/marks from air/car/bus travel. This bag kept clothes, a blanket, money, electronics, and everything dry in rainy Ireland, snowy Germany, and a few downpours in Italy. There is a strap on the back that was perfect for the handle of my wheeled carry-on, and the weight distribution was such that the entire set-up didn't tip over.
