  • Wow, nice way to maximize growing space!
I like this raised bed so much I also bought a second one. Each pocket holds between two and three 5-gallon buckets' worth of soil. This is my first time using fabric containers for growing veggies. I love that it's an easy way to make plants grow better root systems because of air pruning. You could easily run a soaker hose underneath but I wanted to test it out for a while to see how quickly the soil dries out. So far it's a smashing success and all my veggies are loving it! In the first photo, I've got cucumbers and a single plum tomato plant in the pockets on one row, and two peppers in each spot on the other side. In the second photo, which is the second bed, I'm experimenting with growing two plum tomato plants in the pockets on one side. (Normally tomatoes don't like sharing space, but I'm hopeful this will work because each pocket holds so much soil and I know from growing this variety of plum tomatoes that they don't get that big; they did fine singly in 5-gallon pots last year.) In the other row of the second bed I've planted Calendula flowers and two Sugar Baby watermelons in each pocket. I'm curious to see whether I'll be able to use this bed again next year; I'll be sure to write an update! ... show more

  • Really big fabric raised garden bed
I have four galvanized metal raised beds that I fill with fabric container pots - each is 6'x3'x1' so I thought that this fabric raised garden bed would fit inside one of them perfectly. Unfortunately, I failed to take into account the support bars going across the middle of the bed that make it difficult to use this without cutting it. As a standalone fabric bed, I think this is just too big to be manageable. It takes a TON of soil to fill it, and there's really no adjusting it once filled. Also, it is not as neat and tidy looking as the product photos suggest - the sides flop around and do not stand up nicely, even with each grid filled completely with dirt. It may be perfect for some scenarios, but it's not something I will be using in my garden. ... show more

  • Great fabric raised bed adds growing space, easy seasonal mobility
I grow a /lot/ of plants each year and am always looking for more space. Recently I've started using more grow bags, though when I saw this entire 6' x 3' raised bed for only $20 - and with a coupon periodically available - I decided to give it a try. I'm glad that I did! This type of raised bed makes it possible to keep various plants separated (can help with root development, mitigating contamination if a plant is diseased), to adjust soil depths in the same bed, to keep tree roots so they don't get tangled, etc. This large bed is made of thick non-woven fabric; there's good weight to it and it should hold up as well as any of the grow bags I've purchased recently. Fabric is sown with heavy stitching and a good ~1/2" overlap to make sure that seems are solid and will hold up once filled with soil. Each of the long ends also has a nylon handle, making it easier to move if you've already started filling it and need to make minor adjustments, though I wouldn't be pulling it around once filled seeing as its 128 gallon capacity is going to be quite a bit of dirt. When expanded the bed has 8 sections, each of which is 17.5" x 17.5" and almost 12" deep; that's plenty of space to grow larger individual plants or multiple smaller plants, to include variety, etc. Given that the bed is raised and that sides are fabric that wick water plants also get increased air circulation /and/ you avoid problems with over-saturation if there's really wet weather! Finally, while I have many permanent raised beds I also appreciate that this one can be moved at the end of each season after a bit of soil has been removed; that just means that as light in the garden changes over time (e.g. a tree gets larger and shades it out) you can continue to use the bed and move it to a more productive location. Overall this is an excellent addition to my garden, and if you can get it for $15 it's a steal! Note: Pictures have pillows that are nearly identical in color in the bottoms to keep them open; total depth is the 11.8" advertised. ... show more

  • Spacious and Portable
I already have two raised bed gardens that I had custom built so I wanted something that was more economical and could easily be taken down and moved when need. This suits my needs perfectly. For those residing in areas with challenging soil conditions, like Arizona, this fabric raised garden bed offers a practical and efficient solution to expand your green space without the permanence of built structures. The 6X3X1 ft dimension, offering a generous 128-gallon capacity, exceeds expectations in terms of space, allowing for a variety of plants, from vegetables to flowers, to thrive. Constructed from thickened non-woven fabric with reinforced stitching, this garden bed promises durability and breathability, essential for healthy root growth and efficient water drainage. The design facilitates air circulation, preventing root tangling and promoting robust plant development. The divided 8-grid layout is particularly beneficial for organizing different plant types or gardening experiments. Its ease of use is unmatched – no assembly is required, making it an instant addition to your garden, patio, or balcony. I used ten 50 quart bags of soil/compost to fill in up. When not in use or when it's time to relocate, the bed can be easily folded and stored, awaiting the next planting season. This fabric raised bed is an economical, flexible, and user-friendly choice for gardeners looking to adapt and expand their planting endeavors in less-than-ideal soil conditions. ... show more
